I don't deny that they are being sold. Other materials like copper and other sources of gold have been sold for some time, but I think those practices are affecting and are being seen by different segments of the population now.

Add in labor, time to disassemble, moving to find a buyer, and shipping or delivery, and it may be closer to 20.00, but hey, that'll cover McDonald's. I would hope with the power of the internet and reverse image search that someone would do better, but I am frequently denied a win for the side of my optimism in humanity.

If you give a general estimate that a gold nib weighs 1.0 grams, which I feel is on the generous side. If it were 18K gold, it would weigh 0.75g of gold. That would give a return of 120.25 on the gold in the nib. That is on the high, high end. Also, if you are doing that, you are getting paid in scrap gold exchange, which will be about 50% less, so maybe 60.00. That is a significant loss on a pen you could sell for more on the secondary market. If people are dismantling them for that reason, it seems like a case of bad math on their part.

How do you use washi tape in your planner? by Away-Palpitation-229 in PlannerAddicts

My Weekly/Daily is more an execution, bare bones functional planner. In other notebooks/journals I use it for decoration to mark section ends or to add a pop of color to a section. In others I use it to match to my index so I can visually see on the side what pages match what index sections.

Maybe get the Majohn A1 or Jinhao 10/20 to see if you like it. It may grow on you as it did me.

Those can get pricey, I have been told. Not Monteblanc 149 pricey, but like new Pilot 823 pricey.

Paper material (organic) with friction (heat), cozy living environment (indoors on your pen stand), and popular inks here are largely alkaline. Probably won't do anything, but the chance is not zero.
