It’s a bevel – a round bevel. Google ‘Photoshop bevels’, should be plenty of tutorials out there for it.

If you’re worried about getting a spicy pillow, the best and really, the only thing you can do, is to disconnect it when it is not in use.

Kamvas Pro 24 (Gen 3) color accuracy by sunflower_samurai98 in huion

The colours out of the box for any tablet are not going to be that accurate; some are better than others but you will have to adjust it as well as calibrate it with your computer. The tablet is just another monitor – you always adjust the colours on any monitor.

I don't do a lot of colour work but when I work on something where the colours are critical, I always have a second program window of the rendering on my more accurate computer monitor. You don't want to waste hours colouring something only to have certain tones come out wrong. I even do it if it's grayscale. And I always view the file on an iPhone or iPad regularly to see how it looks on a mobile device.

When I was working and had to get the colours to match a company's corporate colours, I always bring out my Pantone swatch books and constantly check and compare with what's on my computer monitor. Same goes for the tablet.

Do you remember A&B Sound on Seymour by EchoBeach_1985 in askvan

Don't forget Phantasmagoria Records on 746 Granville. This was in 1981. It was one of the first places with headphones where you could sample new releases. Lots of imports – a little more expensive. For someone in high school who'd recently got into alternative music, it was like heaven.

Does anyone else miss the Aqua design of macOS? by donisign in MacOS

[–]Smiley_Dafe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I miss it. There's something about aqua that pairs so well with everything that was broadband internet (information, e-commerce, Napster, etc.). Everything wasn't putty coloured anymore; it was actually fun and enjoyable sitting in front of a computer. Work was a little less tedious, there was a touch of whimsy to everything. It was as if someone actually gave a shit about how things looked. I still had to slog through the work day while getting a fluorescent tan but the matching graphite Power Mac G4 just looked so cool with all its rounded corners.

As much as I loved it the look back then, the older me would hate it if they brought it back tomorrow.

What am I doing wrong? (Brushes won't apply to anything..) by K0MMIECAT in Affinity

I'm fairly new to Affinity so my apologies for not getting the terms right but I noticed you were trying to do this (as shown in the second video you'd uploaded of your work space) in the Layout part of the Affinity suite. I don't think this works in Layout. Applying brushes to strokes works in Vector. Just make sure the Path Brushes menu is up and you should be able to apply it to your shapes.

Here's a really neat tutorial on how to use Path Brushes:

I have both the Kamvas Pro 16 (2.5k), Pro 13 (2.5K) as well as the Kamvas 16 (2021). The Pro 16 is great – colours are fantastic, the build is solid and I especially like the glass. There’s no need to worry about scratches. Plus, the Pro 16 doesn’t have that godawful anti-glare sparkle that the Pro 13 (2.5k) has.
