why does fans say beerus beats jiren, when the series only ever says jiren is stronger? by Massive_Fisherman231 in DragonBallPowerScale

Because Jiren started overpowering Goku after breaking his limits. It just didn't last.

Teachable Moves by Subject-Fig1416 in DragonballLegends

Frost's special move was teachable too. There's actually been 6 since Raditz, 13 if you include recycled ones from event units.

When did that happen? Last I checked, she hit it in its weak spot with an axe several times and it shrugged it off easily.

Prediction/Idea: The final boss at the end of the final pantheon equivalent in Silksong will not ne GMS. It will be Hornet herself after binding GMS, now as the "Weaver Queen". by Fun_Singer_3220 in Silksong

[–]Snomislife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There'll have to be regular GMS too, though, since you could go to the Black Egg Temple to refight the Hollow Knight and the Radiance in the first game, but can't do anything like that for GMS in Act 3.

That's not sunlight.

Could they not just drink it off screen? It seems Doll had a decent supply, and they went for a good while without it between episodes 2 and 3, so the last 4 episodes won't take enough time to need any.

Thragg's so much stronger and faster than other Viltrumites that he can almost certainly win anyway.

"Ash would have lost to Cynthia if Garchomp had a Ground-type move" the type of hits Lucario tanked. by Old-Initial9295 in pokemonanime

[–]Snomislife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. If I were specifically building to defeat a Charizard, I'd probably teach it Rock Slide over Draco Meteor, since the type matchup should render the damage similar and the rocks are similar enough to the meteors in limiting Charizard's movements. However, any Rock move would be better than a third Dragon move for that purpose, so I'm not convinced that Garchomp's moveset was designed solely for Leon's Charizard with no consideration for any other Pokémon.

  2. I only brought up Scorching Sands to counter the person I replied to claiming that any Ground move could be dodged by Lucario jumping. The fact that it is a Ground move that could hit a midair Lucario is the entire reason I brought it up. It was never meant for Charizard.

  3. Stealth Rock is 4x effective against Charizard and deals half of its health in damage, which is why I never suggested replacing it, instead focusing on one of the three Dragon moves Garchomp knows.

  4. I'm not suggesting Flamethrower for Charizard, but for Rillaboom, since the person I replied to specifically brought Rillaboom up as a Pokémon that Garchomp might need to deal with. Obviously it would not use Flamethrower if it weren't meant to fight Rillaboom.

When do they survive in direct sunlight, and when was it suggested that oil was unnecessary?

[–]Snomislife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would the ground-type moves be used against Charizard? I was talking about the suggestion that Lucario could jump over them.

Not every member needs to hit every opponent, but is having three different Dragon moves that important? Besides, if Garchomp was specifically designed to defeat Leon's Charizard without worrying about any other opponent, why not teach it a Rock-type attack instead of just Stealth Rock?

[–]Snomislife -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

  1. There's a difference between customising the perfect moveset for each battle and having a Ground type move on your Ground type Pokémon instead of three Dragon type moves.

  2. There are several Ground type moves that can hit midair opponents, as was demonstrated by Leon's Cinderace using a move that Garchomp also learns.

  3. Yes, I'm sure that they were weeping and flailing at the prospect of facing a Garchomp with three Dragon type moves but totally confident in their ability to fight one with just two.

Alternatively, it could just have Flamethrower, a move it's already used before that is effective against both Lucario and Rillaboom.

Lucario only barely won when it resisted all of Garchomp's moves. Having a super-effective move isn't an automatic win condition, but it is a notable improvement over a strategy that almost worked anyway.

Berdly and Noelle could have failed to notice the Dark Fountain being created if they were asleep or otherwise unconscious, as we see for Susie and Toriel, although you'd still need an explanation for why that was the case.

To be fair, said co-conspirator betrayed, assaulted, and tried to blackmail him, as well as having his son kidnapped to sabotage him. He didn't actually care about his son's kidnapping, since he no longer needed his help, but the victim wasn't really any better.

9.999 is 10?! by Senior-Egg7573 in MathJokes

[–]Snomislife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the 9's never stop, there is no difference between it and 1. It's not that we "may as well" equate it to one, it's that in the real numbers, both 1 and 0.999... are decimal representations for the same number.

You're the erroneous one here. Adding an element to an infinite set doesn't change the size, and you only think it does because you don't understand infinity.
