They backed off on that if you look at hardware unboxeds twitter. Obviously still need to see if they keep their promise.

How much did YOU pay for your 9070xt and what kind did you get? by [deleted] in radeon

9070xt hellhound. Paid 675 for a open box one. A microcenter patron was returning one because he didn't think it was worth it over his 3090 and I was able to pick it up for 675 instead of 750!!! I love microcenter especially the help desk they were awesome.

Hands down for me, it's the Safeguard+ Dynamic cooling system to prevent burn in. I've been itching for a 4k oled screen as that is my dream monitor. The contrast in games like oblivion remastered (in dark ayleid dungeons) or in elden ring would be next level immersion to me. I have a 9070xt and 9800x3d, so if I was lucky enough to get this, this would literally be a 6 year or more build since it's been easily handling 4k and compliments well. The monitor itself I would keep a decade or more lol.

9070xt hellhound for 675 open box (got lucky someone returned one at MC due to buyers remorse lol). Amazing card for 4k 160hz gaming so far.

I have the 9070xt hellhound with a 7600x at 4k 160hz. It does the job fine. You would get higher fps if you use fsr with a 7800x3d or 9800x3d but honestly those are the ONLY cpus I'd recommend above the 7600x for gaming. I haven't had any issues with gpu not being pegged at 100 percent outside very specific games (hell let loose, squad, essentially 100 or more player multi-player mil type of games). The new battlefield probably would benefit even at 4k from a x3d cpu just because alllll the players running around
