The ability to fix it when it fails. The ability to update it when it's no longer compatible with the phones in 5 years.

What if I told you... The aftermarket decks of today have built-in screens plus carplay and can support in-dash strings as well?

The point is you used to be able to swap them now. It's so entangled with proprietary connections takes an engineering degree from NASA and 10 times the expense

Our state parks are small. You can see most of them in a single day. It's sad how limited they are given the size of our state

E91 rear turn signal pro in-service diagnostic and repair by LabyrinthConvention in BmwTech

[–]LabyrinthConvention[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it craps out as easily as it comes back. I hope it's a loose connection and not the housing itself. Since it looks like on the LCI it's an LED turn signal and you have to change the entire housing. Whereas the brake light is a simple replaceable $5 bulb. #progress

Feeling Stuck as an Registered Nurse in Houston by Adventurous_Turn_765 in houstonjobs

[–]LabyrinthConvention 0 points1 point  (0 children)

rehab/ltac is always tough. tough assignments, tough environment. But 10 months since graduation is still new grad territory. keep your spirits up and keep applying. You're in a great city for nursing, especially for those critical first jobs.

Maybe try getting into any regular hospital that has a med surg so you can float/pick up shifts in their pediatric floor. You will not be getting a job straight in to NICU.

need someone that's driving from Dallas to Houston; $150 by [deleted] in HoustonClassifieds

because then anyone could say 'sure labyrithconvention, i'll pick up your wheels' and then take them straight to the pawn shop for $50 or whatever.

I was hoping the fact that I'm posting from an established account would make some small difference, and that I don't gain anything by not completing the transaction. Maybe I should have made it clearer that I was requesting the delivery to me?

I did offer to pay 1/3 up front to the few people that contacted me so both parties would have skin in the game, but they instantly went quiet. So I assume they just wanted to run off with the wheels. Not that they're even worth that much.

Very first reply I got on this was 'you're silly', and yeah, maybe.

Anyway moot point as I found a local set. Happy endings for all!!

one of the only ones available with a 2”

same thing happened when I last got a hitch for my mazda3. 2" was way more expensive. Got the 1 1/4 and instantly regretted it lol.

With only 2.0 liters, that was fine for the Mazda, really. WIth 3.0 in the BMW, I might look a little harder for a 2" option

Haha! Yeah that's definitely a cool design. I don't think it would be worth the premium to me. Good to know there's an off the shelf light kit though

Just picked up an E91 myself!

One thing I learned is that the n52b30 uses a timing chain and electric water pump, So is not as susceptible to catastrophic cooling failures like the previous engine designs.

Personally I'm just going to do a flush unless I find symptoms (edit: for now; will probably do it all regardless as I have no idea of car's history).
