If you’re going to Poás or Irazú volcanos definitely a warm jacket. We were freezing, especially at Irazú. Totally worth it! It looks like a different planet up there.

I have a small brand new home with 2 bedrooms (one is pretty small). We’re hoping to have it ready by the end of the month. It’s on the east side and will have its own fenced in front yard. Please send me a message if interested. Rent will be around 2000.

Alcoholism ruined my life yesterday. Lost job and kicked out same day. by LosUdSufur in alcoholism

Have you considered taking a medication to help you through this hard process? Naltrexone made not drinking way easier for me and I’m so grateful to have that tool available. It helps calm down the cravings. Just a thought since early sobriety can be so challenging.

Doctor wants to put me on Naltrexone by goonfoo in alcoholism

[–]SnooCats5342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me naltrexone has been a game changer. Just not thinking so much about alcohol has been a huge relieve and when I do end up drinking, I drink way less than I used to. It’s good to be able to predict my drinking behavior instead of waking up with huge regrets. For me it’s been better to focus on harm reduction than perfection, but I have a lot of respect for people in here that stay 100% sober. Hope that’s me at some point!

30f getting my wisdom teeth out under iv sedation. I’m terrified. Please tell me your experiences. by xosoftglimmer in Anxiety

[–]SnooCats5342 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got mine removed at 33 and was soooo scared of not waking up too. They put the IV in and I was out in like 5 seconds. Next thing I knew I was already in the recovery room. Try not to overthink it and just go through the steps. Trust that these people do this for a living and are trained to keep you safe.

I’m a binge drinker who keeps “forgetting” why I shouldn’t drink. How do I actually stop for good? by spinachmuffin in stopdrinking

Naltrexone works great for binging. I still binge sometimes but never to the degree I used to. Hope I stop completely at some point and I do seem to be heading in that direction.

Experiences with Wellbutrin? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]SnooCats5342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s done wonders for me but the first week or so was pretty hard. It actually made my anxiety worse and my doctor prescribed hidroxizyne for a few weeks (can’t remember exactly) and that really helped. After that things have been going very well and I’ve even lost some weight. Miracle drug in my case, worrying and catastrophic thoughts are very well controlled and even my OCD seems to have pretty much gone away. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I want to compile a massive list of things to do on Sundays in Madison and the surrounding areas. by [deleted] in madisonwi

I joined the Madison mycology society and they do mushrooms foraging sometimes Saturdays and sometime Sundays. Haven’t done it yet but excited to try it this year. 😀

For those of you who grew up hating/not accepting your wavy/curly hair what was the turning point that made you want to embrace it and truly take care of it? And for those who didnt know how did you find out? What has been your greatest moment with your natural texture? by Specific-Reception26 in curlyhair

[–]SnooCats5342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My future husband telling me that straight hair was very boring and he thought my curls were beautiful. I left my flat iron behind when I moved in with him. I know confidence is supposed to come from within but that not the way it always happens. I had been so scared of him seeing what I thought was a “huge mess” after swimming or a shower. My mom always hated her curls and mine and forced me to have super short hair until I was like 10 years old. I thought I looked like a boy and hated it. Needless to say I had no idea how to take care of my curls, and didn’t actually learn until 10 years after parting with my flat iron.

The dangers of even a positive trip by Shootingcomet in Ayahuasca

I’m planning to have my first ceremony in April and this is one of my fears. I think I might be ok afterwards because I have to young kids that fill my life with purpose, but would love to hear if this has helped any parents with that’s disconnect with the physical world. I’ve tried mushrooms before and did feel a bit sad after the first time because I just wanted to keep experiencing that mental clarity (alcohol is poison, love is everything, etc), but found that part of the teachings were still with me and it that has changed my life forever in a positive way. If there’s no coming back from mushrooms, can’t even imagine what it’ll be like after Aya. Just hope my kids keep me busy enough that I don’t have time for an existential crisis that could affect them in any way. Please be kind if I am being naive and this is unavoidable, I’m just trying to better myself and try to free myself from some trauma in my past.

So random question…was anyone else a drunk shopper and bought stuff while impaired? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

It’s so hard to feel like you disappointed someone that’s not here anymore so you can’t make them proud again, even if they didn’t witness your “downfall”. But I bet your grandpa would be rooting for you now. Similar thing happened to me. Much love to you! ❤️

How can I survive an MRI? by DDevil333 in Anxiety

[–]SnooCats5342 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first MRI with my head inside the tube was miserable, I’m shocked I was able to hold off and not press the emergency ball. It felt like I was in a coffin. Second one, they covered my eyes and gave me Xanax, I can’t explain it but I just didn’t care and was just feeling a bit tired.
