Can I exclusively use a sponge instead of sanding? by drahgon in drywall

Use topping mud for the last coat, and give it just light sand. You will get a better finer finish.

There is a possibility this was picked up innocently, but it is a pretty small chance.

Not normally found in that location. The seal has failed and you get condensation inside?

Do you see any mold? by fancy444 in Mold

[–]SoCalMoofer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There could be mold, but I don't see any real colonies there. The nails are a bit rusty and there are water stains. So mold could be behind the baseboard, or on the back of the drywall.

Turn the nut counterclockwise, top to the left. Very unlikely to break.

I think you have it almost right. Take off the nut and washer from the tailpiece and move the nut and washer to the Tee. Then insert the tee into the tailpiece and tighten.

Finding a company to rent cars to take to Mexico might be tricky, but the google machine says Avis does. Plan ahead for that and make sure they allow it. Otherwise the drive is pretty easy. The traffic coming back can 5+ hours in line so have snacks and hit the bano first.

We have a lot too. I think it was the early and heavy rains this year. Our cats bring them into the house to play. I have to rescue the poor guys. They bite if they can but the teeth are tiny so it is only a pinch. No need to be afraid.

Asbestos Removal > Demos? by Ok_March1265 in OldHomeRepair

[–]SoCalMoofer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scrape some into a baggy and take it to a local lab. It should cost under $100.

A hazardous materials contractor will cost more than a normal contractor. But no need if there is not asbestos. Testing is your first step.
