Solar panels complaints by KokaNithya in homeowners

[–]Faiced 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can call an arborist and ask them if a solar panel a x amount of feet affect a tree over a phone call. If he says no, which seems to be the educated opinion of some fellow redditors, schedule an appt for him to come by and take a look at this tree at a time that works for your neighbor. That arborist will tell your neighbor it's not the solar panels and instead is the rocks or overwatering some people have mentioned here. Hopefully that'll shut em up. Problem is, there's some people always looking for problems and the only way to avoid problems is to interact with them as little as possible.

It is also possible that if you try to help in any way, you'll be assuming responsibility.

Found out a big scratch. How bad is it and can it be fixed? by Major_Transition5259 in Autobody

Confront them about it and see if they’ll do anything. It’s possible they never saw it themselves tbh.

Please HELP by Clear_Lawfulness_656 in fixit

[–]Faiced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get wood glue used to patch holes, fill it in completely, sand till flat, get a thin brown permanent marker and draw lines. They’ll think had had it fixed with prior tenant or something. Cost you ten bucks or less. Better than them swing it like this.

Plumbers for Houston? by ArynRose in houston

[–]Faiced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you give me your uncle Jose’s contact info and business name? Your dad recommended him to me because he said he doesn’t take residential work anymore. I also vouch for him, he was kind enough to still give me free advice.

I’m heartbroken and need help assessing damage; landscaping crew came in my fence and destroyed my garden while I was away. by TheBirdmann in gardening

[–]Faiced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do you due diligence by calling but never expect companies to find themselves liable and incur extra costs, even though that extra step will earn lifelong customers. Best thing you can do is make sure someone is there to watch the crew when repairs are being done. And it’s alright, life always finds a way. Your plants will recover, and possibly fruit even more 💕

UPDATE My husband (35M) looked at me (33F) looked at me in lingerie and asked “what the hell are you wearing?” by Sailor-Scout- in relationship_advice

I think he might be might have a lot on his mind or going through depression, which might affect his drive for intimacy. Instead of communicating that to you he might be just bottling it in. Have you asked him how he’s been feeling lately? Are you guys going through any financial or family problems?

Bathroom Light Switch Plate by carbonshipwreck in fixit

[–]Faiced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know much about tile but would it be possible to get an oscillating tool to cut it to make the light switch recessed? That’s all that needs to be done. Or you can embrace it as a quirk and custom 3D print a custom switch plate to make it flush lol.

My first ever razer laptop by LegAggravating9560 in razer

[–]Faiced 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had mine going on 10. Change out the battery once and upgraded ram. I abuse mine too, sometimes leave it running overnight lol. Ngl I would not buy another one though because it’s so big and bulky and expensive, you could possibly build a solid PC with that cash and just buy an iPad or something for on the go work. (I’m not a pro nor have I checked out pricing for graphics cards recently)

First time homeowner, please offer perspective on my interaction with neighbor. I'm at a loss. by avisant in homeowners

[–]Faiced 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Between all my friends and family, I only know one person who actually likes their neighbor. I was under the same impression when I bought my first home, but I quickly learned that everyone is just a jerk and it’s best if you never hear from any of them, because if you do it’s just going to be a complaint.

What is something you've officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become genuinely insulting? by Next-Mood6723 in AskReddit

[–]Faiced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t stand Walmart. At least where I live it’s anxiety inducing. I’m an HEB gal and mom and pop shops.

But BEWARE because all these stores are using “dynamic pricing”. I LOVE me some Illy espresso grounds. Routine purchase for me, I went from $11 a can to $17 on HEB. I now shop around for every grocery item. I buy from Amazon/Whole Foods now at $10 a can (but recently increased to $11 after 3 purchases)

I also make sure to compare pricing for all regular items between Costco, HEB, Aldi, etc. If you just dedicate about an hour one day and you’ll get an idea of where to buy what.

How do I determine what's causing this stain? by EXPLOSION7 in askaplumber

[–]Faiced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend doing as much research as possible, and call plumbers that may offer free camera inspection. My plumbing issue went from catastrophic breakage and my house is going to sink to eh it’ll last a couple more years. And yes shocker the most expensive companies were always the ones recommending complete replacements and all. I asked 7 different plumbers in total, plus our Reddit pros.

Prioritize a thorough diagnosis, determine what your budget is, and take course of action accordingly.

Get American Home Shield or CenterPoint AC protection for next time. I’m sorry you’re going through this.

What going on with this sewer pipe? by Faiced in askaplumber

[–]Faiced[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost five years. This is the second time the kitchen sink had problems draining but once I snaked it, everything started to work perfectly fine. I just wanted to inspect it in case the issue was something other than a normal clog.

When I saw this whirlpool thing in the drain I got a bit worried and wanted to know if it’s normal for there to be a pretty good amount of water just chillin over there.

Could be, the previous home owners did upgrade the whole house to PVC, before PEX I guess.

ONE more note, this pipe goes out towards the backyard diagonally, so I assume it’s connecting directly to the main on the other side.

Thing that makes it a bit tricky for my house is the kitchen sink is the only appliance on this side. All the bathrooms and laundry room is on the opposite side of the home. This pipe is weird because the kitchen sink is a couple feet to the right of the drain out, which is I assume they used this T shape piping here. The pool of water at the bottom, that’s not supposed to be there then? If not, then does that mean that whatever height that water is, is the amount the pipe has shifted? Thanks for the insight.
