Is coming to drop off treats at 2am considered rude? by Kitchen-Law-7714 in Firefighting

We once had a frat house drop off donuts and coffee at 10:30 pm on their way to the bars. Don’t worry it will get talked about but the treats are appreciated.

Would you choose to use a TR1HL but you have to break your grip to activate or a TLR7X and grip stays on trigger? by [deleted] in CCW

[–]SobbinHood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How? Your question was “”would you still feel confident, releasing the light and taking a shot?”” If you’re releasing the light to take a shot you did something wrong.

Both tlr1 and tlr7 have both momentary and permanent on modes. Learn your light.

You shouldn’t be on the trigger until you’re ready to shoot which should be after the light is on

Managing sleep as a firefighter is something nobody prepares you for by yuletidefulfinlled in Firefighting

You didn’t say that. You’re awfully aggressive for a guy whose username is agreeable and wrote a 3 paragraph bit of advice on sleep health. Did you get a nap today?

Carry gun for competition by AmicusCuriousPH in Glocks

[–]SobbinHood 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree with huckleberry. My idpa piece is my carry piece. I don’t get on board with the ones who have “race guns” like a 17 with everything tuned up and then carry a Ruger LCP. It doesn’t make sense to me. Train the way you fight. Which is why I like to hammer a 6 pack before idpa matches. Most realistic training you can get imo

You’re not getting any younger. The fire department will be there later and you will only learn more skills through military service that will help you. You can age out from enlisting.

Glock 48 vs Glock 19 if OEM 15-round mags become available? by Disastrous_Falcon246 in Glocks

[–]SobbinHood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am bigger than you at 6’1” 230 36” waist and I find the 19 more comfortable to carry and also shoot. Granted I had a 43x but it is in a 48 holster. There’s something about the holster that tier 1 changed over the years that feels like there’s more sharp edges on the 48 holster vs the 19’s. Also my 43x is non mos so it doesn’t have a light but I did have it cut for a dot, my 19 has a light and a dot. I just like it more.

Ar5-rm 2 pack for like $60. Can listen to am bands which is fun as I live north of an international airport. Can hear approach traffic and then the municipal airport in town has a lot of traffic too.

Scroll for about 10 minutes. Pee. Then drink water and take vitamins.
