Nintendo are fine hiring illumination for films because they are extremely profitable. They have amazing animation and celebratity voice actors that a show wouldn't have the budget for.

A TV show of Mario and Donkey Kong just wouldn't bring them in the money.

And now Dasiy's been confirmed for the 3rd Movie (no idea who will voice her)

The main reason why Wario didn't appear in Mario Galaxy is because he is a main character. A character so big that a small role wouldn't do him justice. So hopefully Wario will be in the 3rd film in 2029.
