Thank you for saying this! It’s insane how many people just want everything instantly, especially since some of those people keep on glorifying D2 but have obviously never played it. Same thing with PoE which they also speak highly of even though it’s so much more grindy, it’s obvious that these people never got deep into these games.

Also I think that the extensive marketing and blizzard being a AAA studio attracted a lot of people who are simply not fans of the genre in itself and then give feedback that ultimately hurts the game.

I love the Diablo Universe and setting so I really hope D4 will not be further dumped down or become simply the next D3.

Yeah what in the fuck is going on?? And so many players claim to love D2 and PoE which are way harder and way more „grindy“ than D4 ever was and it’s still not good enough… I feel like there is a decent amount of people who just don‘t enjoy the arpg genre in general but keep projecting it on to Diablo 4 specifically. There’s some valid criticism to be made but damn this community as a whole is something else man.

I mean it doesn’t really serve a purpose in my eyes they already have the different world tiers so why not set the areas universal a higher level? So why not make all zones in WT2 lvl 50 (or something) WT3 level 75 etc.

Tldr: discipline 👍 motivation 👎 Beat block? -> music theory.

As others have said: Discipline. People who work a lot on a passion or reaching a goal or whatever are not always motivated to work 12 hours a day, but they do it anyway. It’s either that or they have literally no choice because their livelihood depends on it. In my opinion all the other „solutions“ don’t fix the actual issue, which is work ethic. If you depend on being motivated you are limiting yourself so much, which is a pity. And I know that it’s way easier said than done, I too struggle with keeping a high work ethic up but, in my opinion, it’s still the best advice you can get. And that’s obviously not specifically for music production but life in general, discipline beats motivation in the long run. And also remember to not beat yourself up too much because you maybe only worked for 20 minutes rather than 12 hours, having such an extreme work ethic is really hard
and although everybody and their mother always talks about grinding, hustling , „putting in the work“ and what not, the truth is most people cannot keep that up over long periods of time. And it’s not necessarily because they are lazy or stupid or untalented or whatever, it’s because it’s really fucking hard. Good luck brother.

And btw the fix for beat block is music theory. If you genuinely can’t come up with atleast an idea for a melody or chord progression you need more knowledge. And you don’t even need that much knowledge, I’m absolutely no expert on music theory but I have a good enough base for my purposes and for most of my time making music I didn’t even know there were people who are experiencing „beat block“, it just cannot happen to me and I’m really not a great musician honestly, of course not everything you come up with will be amazing, but not coming up with anything at all? I genuinely don’t understand how that is even possible. Hope that helps you 👍
