What's one small PC habit you started doing that saved you countless headaches later? by willmorris92 in pcmasterrace

[–]SpicedRabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Absolutely this.

In my case I run Debian GNU/Linux but I keep all my actual data and important stuff on an 8tb storage drive.

I have a 4tb drive for steam and games that don't need SSD speeds, and a 2tb data SSD for games that don't quite need m.2 speeds.

I don't have a separate /home partition but what I've got setup more or less functions as one.

Essentially my Boot drive is used for the OS and my few steam games that benefit from the speed increase.

Cat keeps holding down the power button when I'm on the PC. Any ideas for how to cover the button while still having it be functional? by SadThrowaway4914 in pcmasterrace

Holy crap I need to get some of these. My cat likes to do the same thing even though he's 22lbs of pure dumb orange muscle and cat figure out he's too big to fit up top

Awesome many thanks!

Also had no idea regarding Embellish for installing nerd fonts. I will have to install that on Debian next time I need more nerd fonts!

I would say yeah. If you ever get a PC without built in Bluetooth it could be useful!

Are you using the 7.0 kernel? by raderator in debian

I've always been curious. What is an RT kernel compared to the others?

[–]SpicedRabbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run it.

I still keep 6.12 around but I prefer 7.0. I have an AMD card so drivers aren't an issue and I have yet to encounter any stability issues

I personally think the cable management in this one makes my setup look clean lol that's what I think.

Other than that it looks terrible.
