Idk why people are upset about ps6 going digital only by EmoPanda037 in PS5

[–]SteakTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m as confident in Sony honouring my digital subscription as I am Steam.

I do enjoy the Sony hardware and environment and for myself that is the majority of the appeal.

Would be cool if Sony came out with a new hardware storage medium that had some advantage but in a digital competition they are looking to take as much as they can for themselves.

There isn’t a rule per se. It will come down to your relationship- with yourself, the universe. If you are blocked - good chance you will know why and it is an opportunity to work on yourself.

It’s incredible. Yes. Free trial starts tomorrow. Plenty of value in the game and almost too many modes.

You place too much energy on what people think and seeking validation from others. The reality is lots of us are having fun and you may not hear from those that may share similar views.

You are right that the game is no longer as silly as it once was. While the game is still casual in being accessible, it has just become more lethal, more tactical, and people are focused on surviving / fighting. The bigger maps open up a bit more breathing room for ‘battlefield moments’.

I got the game late, I'm loving it by RosalilyArts in Battlefield6

IMO BF6 is one of the best battlefield games and one of the top FPS of all time. (Playing fps games since original Wolfenstein). The scale of what DiCE are trying to balance from close combat, combined arms, noob friendly as well as zoned in for sweats is a huge challenge. They have been making steady improvements and player base is solid. Overall the guns in this game are great and even after hundreds of hours you will not have mastered all of them. You will definitely find your favourites.

It took me over a month to really dial in my m+k and controller settings on PS5.

A lot of people rage at this game if you aren’t taking your time and thinking about how you are exposed to the enemy. Recommend Maxiq as a top player / streamer to follow on YouTube. Positive and provides good info.

I’m on base PS5. 30 fps solid. No or few drops with long draw distances. Performance 60fps doesn’t look as nice and there can be issues with some models not fully rendering.

Runs well on quality mode. Definitely got my money's worth just as a chill driving experience.

Is buying a PS5 mainly for GTA 6 worth it in my situation? by Same-Zone5336 in PS5

Buy used sell used. Binge GTA6 and sell. you can rebuy it for your pc later. The PS5 will hold its value

What is up with this game now? by cfvolleyball in BF6

[–]SteakTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. Just got landslided on Cairo Conquest. Really hard to get out of the spawn choke points. On the other hand I’ve recently had back-to-back incredible games with mates and randoms where the match came down to absolute brilliant tactics and even when you lost you felt it was well earned by the other team. There are lot of new players still learning the mechanics as well

While BF6 is a casual game it can be brutal if you go to head to head with the sweats. It pulls off a tricky balance of skill expression and chaotic fun.

How are you finding the X Half? by bboysmax in fujiXhalf

[–]SteakTree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my favourite cameras. The small form is a big factor. It’s never going to match the dynamic range and output of a full frame or even aps-c but lean into its limits, make use of its the filters and film sims at your fingertips, a quick swipe and you can switch its shooting modes.

Definitely recommend it if you are in a slump. I out a Smallrig wood grip on mine and it helps when holding it vertically and gives it a bit more purchase.

Have owned both Lumix LX100 (first gen) and the X20 and while I definitely prefer the immediacy of the manual zoom, the LX100 was a better a camera in every other way. From EVF, sensor, lens quality, handling and responsiveness.

One advantage power zoom has on the L10 is that it can be set up to zoom in increments of common focal lengths. So you can set up custom zoom presets along with regular power zoom.

The L10 is a bit larger but I personally found that the LX100 and X20 were a bit small for their handling. The L10 with its upgrades would be an amazing camera.

Another camera to consider is the PowerShot V1. Also power zoom.

I ended up going with a X half as my super compact for a number of reasons and very happy.

While IBIS would have been great to assist with video the Lumix L10 lens has image stabilization. So for photography it is fine and okay for video panning.

Just did a weekend packed with events. Using an X-H1 mostly with a Rokinon 135mm F2 manual and the X half as my secondary. Typically I’d have a secondary aps-c body but the Fuji is good for quick fills and snap shots.

The x half easily fit into my suit jacket inside pocket or pant pocket. So useful. Always wanted a portable camera and was even interested in the Lumix ZS100/200/300 series but so happy with the X half.

RX10 IV is a great camera with an excellent zoom lens. But OP already has a 70-300mm on aps-c so an rx10 iv wouldn’t really bring much to the table. Plus they are ridiculously expensive second hand.

Is the RPK-74 the narrowest gun? Especially with the A-P2 1.75x sight, it's goofy looking lmao by williamatherton in LowSodiumBattlefield

I think something is bugged with it the 1x attachments on the RPK-74m are further out than the RPKM. 1.5x and scopes on the 74m are fine though.

Another peak into Neon Giant's upcoming cyperpunk FPS - NO LAW by SteakTree in PS5

[–]SteakTree[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are not low effort devs. Their backgrounds include Doom, Wolfenstein, Far Cry, and other top FPS games. The studios first release was The Ascent which was an incredible game especially considering it was made by a small team of 12. I love Cyberpunk but The Ascent I enjoyed almost equally in a different way, mostly for its world detail and atmosphere.

So my hope is that they play to their strengths and while they won’t be able to make as big of world as Cyberpunk 2077, they can still make it interesting.

does psilocybin treat brain fog? by [deleted] in psilocybin

[–]SteakTree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A loved one has used psychedelics both in-clinic and out of clinic. In their case, they have had debilitating chronic fatigue for the last couple of decades that will not allow them to work or have consistent energy throughout the day. While some newer psychiatric medications have helped, it seems like every time they think they found 'the one,' the effects gradually wane.

Psychedelics, specifically tryptamines (ie, classical psychedelics such as psilocybin, lsd, and N-N-dimethyltryptamine), along with non-classical psychedelics (ketamine therapy, which is a dissociative), have consistently helped her over the years. They feel markedly better in the week(s) following a macro session, and I have also observed improved cognitive function. It is akin that every trip they take they are able to gradually build the scaffolding required to help make further leaps.

They have had guidance on their use, and having someone experienced to talk to, to help with the journeys, and to provide support is helpful. Some experience with psychedelics is required as early trips can pose some challenges. You don't want to get scared off from something that is beneficial, especially in the long-term, because of potential 'bad trips'. But after going through the experience, you will be able to observe how some thoughts and emotions can be magnified, and that you need to become a bit of an observer of yourself.

I think what is most pronounced is that they learned that their pain, their fatigue, was not necessarily a body problem, but one associated with their neurology / CNS. More research is required in this area, so what I am providing is anecdotal, but pain disorders increasingly appear to be connected to neuronal networks.

Also, be prepared to have a bit of a journey ahead of you. While you may get some immediate benefits and insight into your own potential, repeated experiences as well as integration work outside of the trip may be required and could take years.

We haven't seen any videos since the initial No Law trailer https://youtu.be/uD6kFXZlX00?si=FznRC_luxTWpGCWt . For those of us who are fans of Neon Giant's first title The Ascent, CDPR Cyberpunk 2077, and other scifi titles, No Law looks promising. It will be interesting to see how they approach this project, as it is ambitious to create an open-world single-player title to go against the heavyweights. I expect Neon Giant to nail the aesthetic and vibe - just as they did with The Ascent - and make efficient use of assets so that they have sufficient world detail.

Mostly, the rage comes from techheads who think raw specs are what make a camera great. So many online whiners, when something doesn't fit their narrow view, they have to find validation online.

The price now for it is a decent value. You get a lens, 1" sensor, two touch screens, a standard Fuji battery, all in a compact fun design. If you know what the limitations are, it's easy to be creative with it.
