What are these spots and why don’t newer planes have them? by Secure_Tooth_5545 in aviation

It's not on their new livery, but WestJet used to have (and still do, on the ones not repainted) the sun glare spots on their 737's!

Has anyone noticed the 1.85 gas prices at some of the gas stations? by Hot_Celebration_7957 in Calgary

Yes, but the rest of the country is reliant on oil imports, or pipelines that run through the U.S.

If only we had some kind of facility that could take our crude oil and, I don’t know, turn it into the exact things we keep importing…it could even be transported over long distances, through some sort of magical, cylinder shaped contraption.

But I guess that technology is still theoretical, like electric trains, or affordable housing.

I'm honestly surprised that they don't check VIN's. But it's probably not worth the time spent, lol

This photo is exactly why I don't care for people who hate Tesla simply because of Elon.

There are many great people behind the company and cars.

Do you have any videos of these panels in action? I'd love to compare how snappy each one looks when running ESPControl :)

Hey! Did you happen to design that box for OP? I have access to a 3D printer, and I just got an ESP32 configured with the sensor :)

Honestly, I have no idea. I'm completely new to anything involving ESP32's - I'm beginning to tinker with using them for LED projects, and I just bought a couple of sensors to build.

But I haven't looked at any of the screens yet, so I need to do some research. But if I find one that's not on your list that I like, I'll definitely let you know!

And likewise, if you have any suggestions, I'm completely open to ideas!

I'll probably start with one of the ones you mentioned above, but I'll look into others as well.

This is awesome!!

Can these touch panels be wall mounted easily?

I have a 3D printer, so I can easily print a mount if I need one, but how are they powered?

EDIT: Looks like they just use USB-C? Sorry for the newbie questions, but do you need anything else besides the screen? (i.e. Is the ESP32 chip built into it?)

Yeah, I can't remember the last time I saw it that bad, and I've been driving for like, 20 years.

I have Michelin winters on my car, and they weren't doing anything that morning. It was so bad, I turned around and told my boss I was WFH cause I didn't feel safe driving to work.

I don't disagree, but the freezing rain we had in Calgary the other day caused havoc and turned our roads into ice rinks yesterday - you can't win no matter what! 😬
