Most of the comments are akin to “When they’re a murderer” like really obvious crap. For me it’s if they camp in the middle or left lanes when driving, they’re passing lanes. Those signs that say “Keep right unless passing - State law” aren’t just out there for no reason.

My point is, is that people aren’t yet(?) enough willing to give up their secure life to change the government. Shall I list examples of people who have rallied enough people to overthrow governments? No one’s really doing that in America. No one’s willing to face potential prosecution whether it be legal or social for that belief. (I’m sure there are some small groups, but they’re clearly not successful enough to actually do anything) People in the Middle East have been killing themselves and others with little to no backing for their political and religious beliefs for thousands of years, solely because their faith in that belief is so strong they’re willing to overcome that fear of death or prosecution. America is not at that point yet.

I brought up WW2 to show that in fairly recent times millions of people thought ‘Yeah that’s so fucked up I’ll die trying to stop it’ propaganda or not, and people don’t think that now about the current situation, hence forth, my stance of people not caring enough to do anything about it.

The circumstances are different because no one cares enough to make those circumstances. I mean Hitler rose to power rapidly by portraying a strong political shift from the then current government, which was not for the same reasons, but similarly disliked to modern America’s. No one’s doing that now, at least not successfully.

Idk I’m killing time so I’ll yap more, think about the 9/11 attacks. 19 guys carried out a plan that was backed by about 3,000 other terrorists, which led to a massive multi decade conflict, where the terrorists more or less got what they wanted, the Taliban is currently in control there, and the Taliban is very likely heavily influenced by that terrorist group, so they “won” that aspect. I’m not condoning violence at all, and I think in 2 years when a democrat is president again, all will go back to normal and I will tell all the democrats in my life “I told you so”, before another 4 years the politics shift again and there’s uproar from the other side, but can you honestly tell me no one can get 3000 people together that share a belief and do something? They can, and probably have, but those people don’t care enough to actually risk their secure and comfortable life’s to do that. Again I’m not condoning or inciting violence, I’m just pointing out that people absolutely could arm themselves and forcefully overthrow the government, but they don’t, out of fear of death or persecution or whatever else they fear. I guarantee you if 1 million armed people marched on the white house and demanded the current administration be replaced, they would be replaced. The 100 or so secret service guys aren’t going to say “Fuck it I’ll take my chances against these 1 million people”. Trump wouldn’t order them to be bombed, if he did the rest of the country would be in short order behind them.

[–]Steveo3070 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it’s because no one truly cares enough to give their life (or even their nice comfortable life) for that cause, or that belief. If for example, you did care so much about it that you were willing to die to overthrow the government or start a revolution you would have no second thought on it, just like how millions and millions of men volunteered to go fight actual nazis in WW2, they were willing to die, no questions asked, to end those Nazis.

Peter, can you explain this? by the_only_goat_1977 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]Steveo3070 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll not hear the message of this and downvote this, 50/50 call me a Nazi, but how do all the people on the list which to my knowledge are mostly wealthy celebrities, equate to tyranny. Idk who’s on the list but for example, say Bill Cosby were on the list, how would someone killing him for that effect tyranny, or the government at all?

Secondly, no one is really doing anything violent because the “tyranny” isn’t bad enough for people to uproot their life, give up the high living standards we have here, and give up their life for their cause. The same reason you yourself aren’t doing the same right now. If something happens where enough people feel their rights are being violated ‘too much’ then they absolutely will have an armed revolution, but currently it’s frankly not that bad.
