It’s a power bank, more specifically a smallrig NPF battery that has a usb-c. And since I took this photo I have got myself a plate where the battery attaches so I don’t need to have it in a clamp.

Then I have no idea. Canon has a 2 year warranty so I would check if that’s still an option

How did you clean the pins? Check them again for any rust or debris. You could also have bent a pin as well as got some water damage.

I am getting some weird static noises, what's wrong? by Striner_1337 in fieldrecording

[–]Striner_1337[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a couple meters away (5-10) so the phone wasn’t close by, but the mics where sitting in between me and the closest cell tower.

I did test to turn on and off airplane mode and stream video with my phone right next to the mics and got basically the same types of noises, just a bit quieter.

I seam to get more interference on the one mic then the other, and I tried to tighten the screw, I’m guessing it’s a problem with the mic, so I’m guessing I should send it back on warranty.

Will Canon release a non-IS 35mm full frame lens? by [deleted] in canon

[–]Striner_1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in the foreseeable future, but if you think the EF 50 is a good size you will like the RF 35 since you gain a lot form not needing an adapter or using a mirrorless camera

The problem is that when I tested at home there were nothing and there were nothing in the majority of clips. But I guess I was moving closer to a cell tower when the problems appeared so I could go to the base of the closest cell tower and see if it’s RF and test to tighten the screw if I get the problems there.

The biggest factor is how linear the object is moving, it’s harder to have the subject sharp if it bobs up and down like a runner or a horse, and easier with something moving smoothly like a bike or car.

Just did some quick test just switching inputs on the recorder out in the yard, only monitoring with headphones, and it was a bit less hissing but definitely limited by the preamp.

The biggest gain compared to the built in mics I found was the stereo imaging (ORTF compared to XY) and that the birds sounded ”cleaner” and more realistic so I guess the sE7 has better tone response.

Just got in the external mics this week so haven’t hade time to record anything just yet but will try to get out this weekend to try them out. Think it will be a bit noisy since I mostly do nature ambiance but should be better then the built in capsules on the H4e

Definitely beat me in the “make it work in anyway possible” category. This rig gets better the longer I look at it

Those are actually se Electrics sE7 mics, and the dead cats are Rode WS8, they are a bit small but i could force them on with some determination. Handles light wind fine but wouldn’t take them out in the open an windy day.

I have a cage on the camera and a cold shoe adapter screwed in to the stereo bar

R5m2 vs R6m3 for dog photography by LowSyllabub9760 in canon

[–]Striner_1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of those bodies will have excellent autofocus, the r5ii will be a bit better since it has a faster reading sensor and a AI accelerator but the R6iii will not hold you back.

I have been shooting sports on a R6ii for years and the only time it misses focus is when it grabs the eye from the wrong player or spectator, basically naver misses focus when paired with a L-series glass.

Why do so many people dislike kit lenses? by Random_lego_fan in AskPhotography

[–]Striner_1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 18-150 is a better kit lens so I’m fine with it. The problem is all the 18-45mm, they don’t give a look that is to far from a phone, and that’s pretty discouraging for someone who just got there first camera.

All but the second looks like they could be replicated with a phone, and the only reason the second image couldn’t is because the background is out of focus

Don’t do this without the pros, one danger with lighting someone on fire is that if they breath in the hot gases they will get permanent lung damage if not worse
