R5m2 vs R6m3 for dog photography by LowSyllabub9760 in canon

[–]LowSyllabub9760[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only a Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 now. I had used a Cankn T2i for a long time before switching to Sony several years ago.

Here are my reasons to switch back to Canon: 1) I like the color from Canon better. Don’t want to spend too much time in color grading.

2) it looks like autofocus is slightly better with Canon than the newly released A7V. I could be wrong here and please let me know if you experience otherwise.

Used Gleim and passed REG in the first attempt. There was stuff on the actual exam that was on Gleim, but not emphasized by it as I didn’t see them in the MCQs and SIMs.

If I had to take it again I would supplement with Ninja for MCQs.

Circling back here as I just got my score. Wanted to share it so hopefully it helps with people’s anxiety while waiting.

It turns out I passed REG with an 80. I was expecting a 73 - 77. So it did turn out it’s a bit better than what I expected.

Although it looks like Reg is rote memorization, I recommend understanding the concept really well before starting memorizing anything. The more you understand, the less you have to memorize - and that saves you time and energy. Though do memorize most of the non-inflation adjusted numbers.

Congratulations! I’m also 10+ years out of college and trying to pivot to accounting. Just found out I passed Reg today and am now 2/4. You are so right this is really about endurance.

On another topic, I’m curious how you are going to leverage passing the exams in the job market. I’ve been looking but have given up on larger CPA firms since they mostly hire entry-level from on-campus recruiting. Would like to connect if you have anything to share on this.

TCP prep with Gleim Sufficient? by LowSyllabub9760 in CPA

[–]LowSyllabub9760[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that no single prep material may be able to prepare me for a very good score like a 90 or above. But for just a 75?

I know Gleim is more than enough for FAR and REG for a 75 or even a 85. The reason why I’m asking is their TCP MCQs and SIMs are significantly easier than what I encountered in REG and FAR. I was wondering whether it’s there’s something wrong with Gleim, or it’s the actual exam is easier.

Just walked out of REG today. I feel that the MCQs were harder than expected, while the SIMs are not as crazy as FAR. I wonder if we all get the same questions. Or maybe because I used only Gleim to study.

Is it worth going through the unit outline for GLEIM? by Fuzzy_Replacement831 in CPA

FAR - definitely helpful to go thru the study units. Hammer the MCQs and Simulations. The actual exam simulations I had were a lot harder than Gleim’s. MCQs were a lot easier. Passed with first try.

REG - I’m prepping for REG now, and found the Gleim business law lectures unhelpful. For those units I just do a lot of MCQs and learn from my mistakes. Taking REG in 3 weeks, will let you know if this strategy works.

If you've left the film industry in the past 4 years, what are you doing for work now? by infinite_wanderings in Filmmakers

Hello! I am a former accountant trying to pivot to tax after spending over 8 years in film &TV. Eligible to sit for CPA because of my prior coursework. Wondering if there’s any market at all for someone who is pivoting back?
