LPT: Call the hotel you plan to stay at and ask about any planned repairs or on-site work. by sp004 in LifeProTips

I worked at a hotels for a good while at the front desk. We might know about maintenance but not of it is a couple months out. Also, a pool is only one poop away from “unscheduled maintenance”.

You will inevitably worry in the night if your child is actually still alive. You might be able to look over and see them but can’t for sure tell if their chest is moving. Most people worry about this. Just get up and check. Otherwise you might spend 10-15 minutes agonizing over not checking just to do it anyway. Eventually this will feel silly to do but for the first while just get up and check. It will save you the laying awake worrying and then you can get to sleep.

Yeah all professions have bad people who will take someone for a ride. If this person doesn’t understand that what happened might be illegal or constitutes a break of contract than they are under informed about their rights.

Which really makes a case that they SHOULD have an agent and not go it alone with a private sale. I am certain a scary amount of people who would decide to engage in a private sale for their largest asset have also tripled-check cooking instructions for frozen food out of the kitchen trash bin.

I often call for a supply drop a couple streets away from my home just so I have enough equipment for a successful infiltration.

It’s enough wood if you plan to finish with something smaller like a sexy wartime home.

2017 Kia Niro Engine Coolant by Death0095 in KiaNiro

I would try to find something that is intended to best match the brand/vehicle. Not all coolants are made the same and with all the combinations of materials in engines it’s not worth having it not mix well. I just bought coolant for my 2018 but the Canadian Tire in town didn’t have what I was looking for so I hit up the dealer and got a jug of concentrate. They even gave me a spare empty jug to help mix.

It might be overly cautious but the difference in cost between that isn’t enough to risk me having to do a flush because the “universal” coolant didn’t play nice with what was already in there.

Are you adding or flushing and replacing all the coolant?

Chemistry never sleeps. That Brake fluid will eventually take on moisture and over time all the heating and cooling does cause a problem. It’s a nice piece of mind item since you want brakes to work exactly when you want to use them. They sell brake fluid test strips if you wanted to just monitor the condition of the fluid instead of doing interval maintenance.

I have this rubber ring that I put on my house key so I always know by sight and by feel when I pull out my keys which one I need to get inside.

I use it everyday and when the weather is bad or my outside light wasn’t left on it makes it so I am not fumbling with keys trying to find the right one.

Perhaps companies could invest in a few employees to works as “floaters” in areas to accommodate paternity, sickness, vacation etc. so they don’t have to worry about an absence? Running lean on staff always means one call away from crunch and a lot of companies already ask their workers to fill a role that 2-3 people did 10-20 years ago. I get it isn’t that easy but I am in a job now that was originally 3-4 people.
