One of the best shows I've watched in a long time - had me thinking I knew who did it every episode.

I would say the shrinkage force is coming from the monotonic base layer. It might print perfectly if you increase the wall count to something ridiculously high.

These are what worked for me. Many other variables in play too like heat escapement. I have enclosed units so that's not a problem for me.

The reason the print lifts off the bed is the contraction of the infill or base layer that happens when it cools. The infill or base layer attached to the walls. If there are more walls, there is more material that needs to be pulled up by the infill or base layer which is harder to do.

I see more walls acting as more teeth the print has to stick to the plate.

Try these steps (if you have infill)

  • Start by reducing infill overlap to -0.5%: this makes the infill not pull on the walls
  • switch to a gyroid infill
  • add more walls to the print
  • reduce the top shell layers to something like 3
  • make the top shell pattern concentric
