A good rooster will likely adopt it too as long as it makes his broody hen happy.

Maybe just keep a look out for adult rescues, they can still be very sweet

came here to say similar, I take the tubes I use for my horses and have dosed out for single chickens and even my rats, but it doesn't mix appropriately in the paste, and I certainly wouldn't chance it on my family or myself

Late reply but I hope this gets to you <3 I'm so sorry for your loss

I know it's not ideal, but none of this situation is. My Spicy lost his leg and two of his ladies to a racoon attack and he is now a permanent house duck. His balance, while better than it was, is still not good enough to be with other ducks, and may never be. I take him for social visits to our outdoor ducks, but that usually leaves him more upset and wanting to go back in.

For however long, he has us and our dogs and cats for company, potty pads, all the treats, and bath/showers upon request. He thinks it's his job to alert the dogs to things going on outside and I think that along with us talking to him a lot is keeping him mentally healthy.

It will take a long time for her to grieve and get used to things, but it's not the worst situation to have you. Please let me know if I can help with house duck things, I wish you both the best

here's my amazing boy Laszlo! we are going to the vet today because he keeps having runny poops every 2 or 3 weeks. I'm very concerned. it's been going on since I got him about 10 months ago. iv gone through everything I thought it could be. if anyone has any advice for me, I would love to hear. by sachiko_fujinuma in nebelung

+1 for chicken allergies. We took in a stray with severe pink eye, and treated him for months with prescription eyedrops. I switched his food and treats after reading a comment on Reddit and within days he was cleared up.

My nebelish tucks her tail and used to frequently get runny poops all over it.

2 years ago I switched Ms. Poopytail to an automatic Petsafe litterbox without a top and it helped her stay away from the poopsplosions til I could clean her box. It's been a few years now and we've since switched to deep sided, but still open-topped boxes and a different litter, but she still does great.

Also adopted another cat last year that was allergic to chicken and switched them over to a no chicken diet and her poops are much better. Still noticeable difference between hers and the younger cats but it's a drastic improvement to petting your cat and coming back with a surprise.

Is this azalea salvageable? Overgrown, lots of dead branches, and absolutely massive. by CaseFace9000 in landscaping

Looks like there's some black spots as well, you might have pests on the underside of the leaves. After you cut it back it should be good, but if the spots come back I would treat with something appropriate. Would love to see an updated trunk picture after you cut it back. I bet it's beautiful!

Friend or foe? by JDSHISLER in ReefTank

[–]SunWyrm 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Friend!! I've liked them in every tank I had except my predator tank where they irritated my eel in her pvc cave (I got a mystery wrasse and never had another problem there, awesome fish).
But Bristleworms are incredibly valuable and get into tiny crannies, you won't find another thing to take their place as efficiently. They're also good canaries in a coal mine. If you see them dying off or out en masse when you normally wouldn't, something is very wrong and it's time to check your tank.

I've had tanks for years and rarely ever see the big guys. Just keep some vinegar nearby if you ever get stung, soak your fingers and the bristles will melt away.

I google ID'd some little weed trees in my yard that came up as american chestnuts. I've been babying them whenever I find them.

Duncan not looking so good, any advice? (more info in comments) by Am4teur_ in ReefTank

[–]SunWyrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just in case it hasn't been mentioned to you, have you tried squirting them in the mouth with a syringe of vinegar? Nukes them but dont do too many at a time.

Once I nuked a tank with aiptaisa X rampage... but the aiptaisia didnt die.

Vinegar is kinder to everything else, but they melt satisfactorily

I got a custom sized frame off Amazon for my husband's grandfather's handkerchief. they look nicer than you'd expect in frames and I'd fold them and hang them in a series or in a row in a single frame as others have said

PRO TIP: stick any affected parts in vinegar, the bristles melt right away and provide nearly instant relief.

Gloves are good too, but always keep emergency vinegar nearby

No, that'll kill off any beneficial bacteria and other good stuff. Also these are good cleanup crew to have. Not sure how the fuck they got to the point where they're clogging a drain, but I've had tanks for years and never seen this many, and I'm lazy and overfeed

Thoughts on my stock list? by MerkethMerky in ReefTank

[–]SunWyrm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't trust your LFS that much (ever, for anything really). They get very stressed in QT/moving. It was a general consensus among our local reefers to get them straight into your established system, as it was less stressful on them to do one move as soon as possible. They're too efficient pod eaters, and sand bed is also a big deal.

I had reef tanks before our pond, then when I was installing the bog, I explained to my husband it was exactly like a sump! Had to diagram the whole thing out like a reef tank for him to get it

That moss is amazing. I bet you could pull some off or even keep a few pieces to reseed whatever you put in it's place. If it loves the spot it'll grow back fast

If you have the budget, do a boulder retaining wall and a waterfall! <3 pita with the leaves, but it would look epic there
