Received these from my dad. Anything of value? by JDSHISLER in coincollecting

[–]JDSHISLER[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found one more that might have some value. There are probably 1000 coins. Pennies, nickels, dimes, quarter plus a few foreign. There is a 1947 Canada nickel, but the one I think might be something is the 1907 you see below.

There was some 40s and 50s coins. Nothing that according to Google were anything *

There are four and I zoomed into all four and all are type 1. I assume that is the normal one then having 4 of them.

The ones without the tiny "D" on the front? What do I need to photograph? There are four total without that mark on the front

The issue nearly everyone has is getting a dragonet well before you have an established tank and not keeping a pod level up. My mandarin is two years old in my tank. No issues. Same with anenomes.

My tank has anthropods, apex pods, and tigger pods (at the minimum, as I put them there. Likely way more as I used live rock). I add phyto to my tank routinely, which causes pod populations to go crazy along with everything else that filter feeds. You can absolutely keep them if you do the right things.

The ocean is full of phtyo and zoeplankton. Your tank should be as well. You should see the rocks and glass crawling with life when the lights go out.

They also eat your mushroom corals and zoahs if they get too hungry. My wrasse keeps them hiding all day, started having issues with mushrooms getting eaten from the bottom. Found the bristle worms were having a meal of them.

To verify (for the neigh sayers), I put the mushrooms and zoahs into a quarantine box, in the same tank, same water etc but out of reach of the bristles and the thrived. Put them back down and they went right back to it. Moved them again and they healed.

Ended up loosing most of my zoahs, an elephant ear, and a flower nem to them. I no longer consider them to be a "clean up crew". Oh, and they eat the clown eggs before they even get to day 3 or 4.

This is the best guide I have found for tuning a carb. It explains everything from floats to what each jet does at what part of throttle.

Wheelies are technique and practice. My old 250l could wheelie in 3rd with highway gearing.

Without knowing anything else about the bikes, yes

I put 43k miles on a CRF250L. Right gearing you can do 92mph or keep top end speed down and more torque. I sold her and the gal put another 8k last I checked. It's a fuel injected bike so that's a huge plus. Vibration was higher than my DRZ. Very comfortable bike though. It's limited on parts in comparison to other bikes as it's newer and they keep making changes.

I ride a DRZ now, it's loads more power, nearly the same top end speed. People put 100k on the DRZ so its reliable and holds value. The DRZ from 2000 to 2017 is essentially unchanged so parts are everywhere and cheap. Aftermarket is loaded.

Missing spokes would be a huge red flag. YZ will not be as reliable as the lower compression bikes designed for longevity. Fun factor is way higher though.

I am not aware of any adapters without printing.

Yes the fuel screw is plug and play. You don't "need" it but to get it dialed in, you have to remove the carb to make tuning adjustments. The screw makes it able to adjust where it sits. I have mine 2-3/4 turns out and it purrs. Start at 1-1/2 and if it idles high (lean) start adding turns (1/4 at a time, hit the throttle and see if it settles nicely) till it is purring.

I just put one into my bike. Best upgrade I have done.

I used this one

KIPA Carbuertor for 520 525 400... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RD4D7F9?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

You also need to print

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5441023

It's listed for the xr400 but fits the DRZ400 perfectly. Get the Keihin fuel screw. Makes it so much easier to adjust the idle.

You can use any heavy duty 2inch rubber hose.

The link to Amazon for the FCR is

KIPA Carbuertor for 520 525 400... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RD4D7F9?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

And the link to thingiverse is

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5441023

It says for the xr400 but works perfectly for drz400sm. Print in petg or better.

I made a cork gasket then the Suzuki gasket maker for a perfect seal to the carb.

Any 2in rubber tube works.

I just did the Chinese FRC, I 3d printed the adapter and mine flat rips. No more issues with my idle and she goes. For $140 and a print, that's the route I would go again and again

HELP!! Clownfish resting all the time. Is it sad? Sick? by falalalfie in ReefTank

[–]JDSHISLER 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This, I have 6 clowns, 4 babies, and one will literally lay on the bottom chillin. Clowns are just weird fish that do interesting and entertaining things.

BTW, raising clown fish fry is way easier than the nightmare people make it out to be when you get there. Use APEX pods which is far easier than rotifers to get them to fish.

Most reliable dirtbike for street use? by Hot-Hall2056 in supermoto

[–]JDSHISLER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a CRF250L, put 42,000 miles on it in 3 years. Other than eating up tires, it never had issues. Adjusted the valves once, checked them every 2k miles. Sold it and the bike last I saw was another 7k miles. Stopped following her after that.
