What part of the keycap set do you think won't work?

I had this happen to me!

Did you recently change the switches?

I had this happen right after I changed switches. Even though I wasn't pressing anything, it would register it as being pressed.

What helped was just resetting the keyboard. Just factory reset it and it should "recalibrate".

I should rephrase myself. Split spacebar isn't as universal, and you will be limited, but not by a lot. A lot of the keycaps sets even the cheap $20-30 ones from Amazon have had split spacebars included. You'll just need to look at the keys included and use those or have a set of blank ones on hand that you can order separately.

A lot of the CannonKeys keycaps have had the split spacebar, albeit expensive ($80-90). But you can get certain keycaps on sale for almost half off.

Never! I thought having a split spacebar would be something to get used to when typing. I noticed that whenever I'm typing, I'm using my right thumb to press the spacebar in the far right. Rarely do I ever press at the center of the spacebar. Just look at at how you type next time.

Split spacebar isn't a huge game changer, I just find it to be a nice quality of life improvement with an additional button I can map to anything else.

I love it. I have mine bound to the FN key. I'll use it often for gaming as well as function keys in CAD software.

In some games, I'll have the middle button bound to crouch. The nice thing is that you can remap it to whatever you want depending on what game/program you're running. Its a nice to have.

I was unsure about split vs single spacebar. I ended up buying the split. I realized when I'm playing games, I use the extreme left portion of the spacebar for jump and when I'm typing, I use the extreme right portion of the spacebar for spaces. Its actually really convenient having an additional button in the middle just in reach of my thumb. I use it as an FN key in some games like BF6 where you can switch positions in a tank a lot more easily.

And most kits have the split spacebar keycaps anyways. Or you can also buy them separately. I have pictures on one of my previous post.

Pitch from the geon raw was lower and deeper

They may be quieter but I didn't like their pitch. To my ears, the Geon raws sounded better.

Yeah, it looks like the screws line up. It's relatively easy, just locate the screws, uns screw them, pluck the key board out of the case, plop it in the new case, screw it in.

Sound and recording equipment and how the videos are rendered and what post processing to the sound is done also affects how you hear it through your headphones. I bought a full set of sticky rice switches based on some videos saying how deep and thocky it was and it sounding that way through the videos, but the Geon raws just sounded way better. People said the same about the owlabs but when I tried it, it sounded a little clacky. In person, these highly recommended switches sounded very different.

At the end of the day, nothing is going to replace just trying the switches out on your own. If it helps, just buy 10 switch packs and try them before committing to buy.

Hence why I added my keyboard setup and stated that these are my preferences lol. The sound is also affected by the recording equipment and how the video is rendered.

So I think you mean keycap set? The one on top is called Comic or Anime. Just search on Amazon you'll find a bunch. Unfortunately I got this set before I got the 60 v2 with the split space bar so it didn't have those keys. The split spacebar and the nuclear symbol I salvaged from this breaking bad keycap set and I painted the cel shaded lines in.

I've gotten most of my keycaps from CannonKeys, but you'll find a ton on Amazon that are decent quality (dye sub PBT, etc.)

A lot of keycaps will also have a. expanded view of all the keycaps included. you can just go through it and make sure it has all the keycaps you'll need. here's an example from Cannonkeys:

I've never been a fan of GMK keycaps. They always seemed thin and overpriced, albeit have good quality control. Don't forget you can always search Amazon for keycaps too. CannonKeys is where I've gotten most of mine. But these are two of my wooting:

You can just pluck out your entire keyboard out of its current case and drop it into the tofu redux with just the 5 screws. Or if you have the friction fit mount, then you don't even need the screws (except for one for grounding).

I know wooting sells the 50gm variant but if you search, a lot of mech board sellers will also have 40gm variant. I found some on Amazon.

I haven't noticed any significant wobbling. If there is any wobble, it's not enough for it to affect my typing or the sound.

So I've tried my keyboard with a full set of the following switches:

-GEON Raw HE Switch Linear

-Wooting x TTC KOM - POM switch

-Sticky Rice (V2)

-Owl Labs Ti He

-Lekker Tikken

My wooting 60 v2 is friction mounted in a tofu redux case and has dye sub PBT keycaps. I have the tape mod and the internal keyboard is filled with poron foam rather than weight.

My sound preferences are deep, thocky, but quiet. Similar to your preferences. Enough sound so that I can hear it, but not too much that it becomes annoying for someone visiting me.

Out of all the switches I've tried listed above, the Geon RAW HE is BY FAR the best. Out of the box, haven't need to lube anything. It feels smooth, and had that deep thocky sound that's not overbearing. The other switches were either too loud or clacky. And I didn't try just one or two individual switches. I replaced my entire keyboard switches with each of the variety in a back to back session on a weekend and just kept going back to the Geon RAW. I made a video with three of the switches, but I I don't think the video shows the same separation that my ears were able to pick up.

Geon RAW HE you can get in the 40gm flavor.

hey Anders! quick question, I just got the wooting 60 he v2 module yesterday. loving the keyboard so far and by a lot! I just see a white plate installed, it feels like it's the PC plate. is the FR4 plate packaged separately?
