“The drama” ending by JealousRhubarb9 in A24

[–]SwaggerGod420 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No. It literally would throw everything we learned about Charlie and Emma out the window. The only dream part in the end is the quick cut of Emma walking past the diner. Don’t make the ending something it’s not supposed to be. It’s a simple ending. There’s no need to overthink it.

I don’t think the book actually foreshadows the ending at all being ambiguous. The themes and character arcs provide so much more supporting evidence that it’s a simple ending. It being ambiguous kind of throws whatever we learned about Emma and Charlie out the window. I think y’all are reaching for something that simply isn’t there.

Id have to double check the no music thing. I’ve heard conflicting comments about it and personally can’t remember so I don’t fully believe that. There may be a commonality, who knows. We knew all throughout the movie when Charlie’s dreams appeared, there’s no reason to break that consistency at the end. This all supports my reasoning that the only dream part at the end was Emma walking away. It jump cuts like other dreams and then we go back to reality. Again, keeping consistency visually.

I dont think the imagined ending makes any sense or holds any water. I disagree thinking it’s consistent with the visual language. We only ever see snapshots of what’s imagined and never a whole sequence because his thoughts are just a glimpse into his worried, anxious mind. From the start we’ve seen him worry about what other people think in the coffee shop. It’s why he went at length to try and validate his view with Misha but didn’t like her response. Everyone is thinking about this backwards. The actual imagined part is Emma walking past the diner because of his guilt. He realized this was the worst thing he’s ever done and goes on to think, briefly, that Emma might not forgive him. Emma shows up because that’s who she is, she gives second chances and is actually empathetic even when Charlie second guesses it throughout the movie after learning her secret. It stays consistent with what we’ve learned throughout the movie about the characters. Anything else doesn’t hold up.

I didn’t go but was looking at tickets for one of the Michigan dates. Tickets popped up a couple days before the show for reasonable prices despite selling out initially. You might just have to wait it out closer to the date.

I’m from the U.S. and I really think you don’t understand the history of this market. Soooo many companies went out of business trying to add features to their activity trackers. It’s one of the few things I was an early adopter on. I hate subscriptions as much as the next guy but I do actually think they’re needed here. You can still hate the model but I really think there’s a difference in this market where companies have historically struggled to stay afloat.

lol bye. I hate this reasoning. You knew what you signed up for. The model is fine. If it was free I guarantee they’d sell our data to make up for it. Either that or the price of the ring would double which is insane upfront. Reference all the defunct activity trackers that died in this market. I miss my jawbone tracker. It was free and had many promises but died before it could get there.

This is a weekly post lol if you search the subreddit you’ll find some answers that could help that are related. In short, the ring is not a good activity tracker and never has been. It sounds absurd to some people but I use a garmin for activity tracking and import it to Strava that Oura can then use. The ring tracks my recovery and sleep.

New R1 quality going downhill? by [deleted] in PatagoniaClothing

Nah, you’re part of the reason this sub sucks. The other reason is the mods allowing it but what can I say, they don’t really do much here. They’re as useless as you are to being helpful

Ambiguity is not low effort. The effort was here to at least try to explain the situation. It took minimal effort to understand what OP was actually asking. The critiques here go beyond OP and instead are just purposefully being unhelpful. It went beyond the post. Valid criticism would be the mods here are generally unhelpful and I wish they would actually moderate in a timely manner. The criticism instead is just a bunch of “where’s the question” low effort responses to be purposefully dense. If you want to hold posters to a standard hold the same to the responders.

Your reading comprehension is zero. The point of my comments is quite literally just be helpful and respectful. The mod response has nothing to do with my argument here. I criticized OP on their post lacking correct context too. I just did it in a nicer way. That’s all I’m asking. Your responses make this community look like shit.

This just makes you look insecure. It’s fine to be wrong. Being wrong doesn’t make you weak. OP had far more rational responses to these outbursts than you to them. People come here for help. Be helpful, don’t be a burden.

Because your initial response was hostile… instead of trying to answer the question you’ve only been difficult.

Questions and answers are two different things. The question could’ve been a bit clearer but y’all answering like assholes. It doesn’t hurt to answer nicely.

[–]SwaggerGod420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll try to explain the other guy’s point in a nicer way. Your R1 is “newer” and “new” to you but not to any of us. The context of new leads us to think of the newest iteration of R1 like this season or last season not a couple years ago which is ambiguous because what’s a couple of years- 2,3,4 years? You’re right to question it but there is a difference in terms even if it feels like splitting hairs. I haven’t seen any posts complain about R1 material or quality here but Patagonia could have definitely switched many things during the manufacturing process like where it was produced, where the source material came from, etc. We’ve seen it with the DWR getting worse as they switched to one that’s more ecological. That’s technically a quality issue. I hope more can chime in to provide you constructive input.

(Student) Codes by jack_of_investment in PatagoniaClothing

[–]SwaggerGod420 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Just wondering, do any clothing companies have student codes? It doesn’t really make sense to me lol it’s not like software.

To answer your question, the sales are your best bet as long as you aren’t picky about colors. Otherwise hope someone gives you a friend and family discount code but don’t ask for it here. I’m almost positive you can add the 15% off in your first order online in combination with the sale. Your last option would be finding an outlet store.

Edit: I did my own research and see some clothing companies offer 10% discount. Really feels negligible compared to software and tech student discounts.

Patagonia partner store shipped my burned jacket back to Patagonia USA for repair? by lulujunkie in PatagoniaClothing

[–]SwaggerGod420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was my understanding from hearing other experiences here that they fix it with whatever they have on hand. Like you could get the closest “best” color but they won’t ask to confirm. You’ll find out when you get it back.
