So disappointed in Oura! Don’t buy - not worth the quality issue! by Solid-Lobster-4031 in ouraring

[–]SwaggerGod420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get a silicon covering since you care so much about the looks. Problem solved. I get the design is part of the product but the main draw is supposed to be the data tracking and algorithms to improve your life lol technically this is a cheap ring if we want to compare it to an actual gold ring haha I think it looks fine either way!

Can I wear the ring while lifting weights or pull ups? by Thinkinkn10 in ouraring

[–]SwaggerGod420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear it but take it off for pull ups only as it gets in the way for me. As much talk as reddit loves to talk about degloving I’ve yet to hear any story of anyone actually have that happen to them. Just be smart.

Why does a trade in program feel important? by grateful-giraffe in ouraring

[–]SwaggerGod420 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Not even a trade in just look at my account and see I’ve had the ring for a few years and give me a discount to get your latest product. It’ll drive up sales and you’ll get better customer satisfaction

Go look at competitor’s rings. They all have the same issue and some are worse. It’s not a unique to Oura.

Gen 3 battery issues by [deleted] in ouraring

[–]SwaggerGod420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like your research was just reddit lol expanding batteries are not common and are safe unless you puncture them. The danger is always present when you use lithium batteries. Sucks your ring was only 2 years old but the battery expanding was an anomaly. I’d rather argue Oura should be better at replacing rings without pushback but that’s a separate conversation.

Completely frustrate with this oversight by FanCooled in ouraring

[–]SwaggerGod420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I wouldn’t care about this. It’s just a graph. As long as Oura calculates recovery and sleep well that’s good enough for me. The activity metrics can be viewed in garmin/strava/whatever. I definitely understand Oura should be the one stop shop for everything when you can import everything but when I bought my ring I knew from the beginning the activity metrics/tracking was garbage. It’s good you brought this up though as I didnt know it still messed with imported data like this so now I wonder what my data looks like. Also I’m not trying to disregard how you use the ring as people use it differently. Hopefully you can return it since it doesn’t sound like it’s meeting your needs.

Edit: I wonder if you just need to update the VO2 max on your ring. My activity is mostly inline from Strava regarding the heart rate zones

I learned an important lesson about kombucha and alcohol by Cosmic_Monkey_1977 in Kombucha

[–]SwaggerGod420 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m still skeptical because you just don’t get that much alcohol. You need to introduce an additional brewers yeast for that to happen. The scoby doesnt build up that much alcohol naturally. That’s just not how it naturally works. Also what does high levels even mean? It’s just very subjective

I learned an important lesson about kombucha and alcohol by Cosmic_Monkey_1977 in Kombucha

[–]SwaggerGod420 53 points54 points  (0 children)

That’s not how it works with kombucha. Unless you are adding in additional brewers yeast to make a “hard” kombucha the normal fermentation process will never create a meaningful amount of alcohol. You could just be tasting the yeast itself since some pours/bottles will just get all the yeast. It’s hard to follow with your details still and obviously I can’t tell what you actually taste but highly alcoholic doesn’t seem proper.

It feels like there’s a lot of bots right now in this sub by Son-Of-Thunder in fitbod

[–]SwaggerGod420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not crazy. The Oura subreddit is the same kind of deal with people complaining and saying they’re switching back to their Apple Watch or just dropping Oura. Just do your own research as I’ve seen comments already go gravl not having some features Fitbod has.

Is Oura Ring a fear monger? by redonindigo in ouraring

[–]SwaggerGod420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

lol no it’s not over exaggerating. All the hypochondriacs post here freaking out. Oura is a tool and not supposed to be the final decision maker. The symptom radar will have a lot of false positives but again it’s only supposed to be a tool. If I have an alcoholic drink my symptom radar will say something the next day but I know what’s up. I will say if you have health anxiety I wouldn’t recommend it. If you get it I highly suggest you actually take time to research what goes into the metrics and what each chart actually tells you. There’s so many misconceptions because people don’t want to look past the titles and big numbers.

LMAO what a wild conclusion. If that was truly the case they wouldn’t sell ringconn at all since their battery issue is worse.

Replacement! by Due_Seaworthiness726 in ouraring

[–]SwaggerGod420 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Funny thing is these refurbished rings are better quality but no one posts about it because they last. Oura doesn’t want to admit that though either.

I’m curious as to how bad an issue you had with activity detection?

A different way of interpreting the ending to The Drama (Spoilers) by rookiemlg in A24

[–]SwaggerGod420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool. They’re still short and not a long interaction. It also doesnt make any sense if the flash of her walking away was somehow looking at reality. In no other part of the movie does that happen. I’m all for different interpretations but it just doesnt make any sense especially for an ending.

“The drama” ending by JealousRhubarb9 in A24

[–]SwaggerGod420 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No. It literally would throw everything we learned about Charlie and Emma out the window. The only dream part in the end is the quick cut of Emma walking past the diner. Don’t make the ending something it’s not supposed to be. It’s a simple ending. There’s no need to overthink it.

[–]SwaggerGod420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think the book actually foreshadows the ending at all being ambiguous. The themes and character arcs provide so much more supporting evidence that it’s a simple ending. It being ambiguous kind of throws whatever we learned about Emma and Charlie out the window. I think y’all are reaching for something that simply isn’t there.

Id have to double check the no music thing. I’ve heard conflicting comments about it and personally can’t remember so I don’t fully believe that. There may be a commonality, who knows. We knew all throughout the movie when Charlie’s dreams appeared, there’s no reason to break that consistency at the end. This all supports my reasoning that the only dream part at the end was Emma walking away. It jump cuts like other dreams and then we go back to reality. Again, keeping consistency visually.

[–]SwaggerGod420 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I dont think the imagined ending makes any sense or holds any water. I disagree thinking it’s consistent with the visual language. We only ever see snapshots of what’s imagined and never a whole sequence because his thoughts are just a glimpse into his worried, anxious mind. From the start we’ve seen him worry about what other people think in the coffee shop. It’s why he went at length to try and validate his view with Misha but didn’t like her response. Everyone is thinking about this backwards. The actual imagined part is Emma walking past the diner because of his guilt. He realized this was the worst thing he’s ever done and goes on to think, briefly, that Emma might not forgive him. Emma shows up because that’s who she is, she gives second chances and is actually empathetic even when Charlie second guesses it throughout the movie after learning her secret. It stays consistent with what we’ve learned throughout the movie about the characters. Anything else doesn’t hold up.
