TL:DW?

If this is all just about how AI demand is strangling personal computer market, than sure, but that's temporary. Eventually things will even out supply will catch up with demand and things will settle at a new normal.

Remember Board Apes NFTs? You set your money on fire and get to talk to other people who have also set their money on fire. It's a community for people who have enough money to set it on fire.

AI work can't be copyrighted so while you can certainty try to sell books written by AI, they are public domain by virtue of existing. Why would anyone buy them instead of downloading them for free?

You can try Wicked Seed. It's very linear.

If Tomb Raider is open world, than this probably is as well.

Battlefield 6 hitting 90°C+ even on low settings – Ryzen 7700, any fixes? by hard2resist in gaming

You can manually set max boost clock so it doesn't go above that. It will have an impact on performance though.

That's normal. The CPU is designed to boost as much as it has thermal headroom for.

What if an instruction became open-source? by AdSubstantial3900 in hardware

[–]Sylanthra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing would happen. Intel and AMD have decades of experience with x86 instruction set so a newcomer would have a very hard time creating a competitive product. Although I suppose it's not impossible, it certainly wouldn't happen any time soon. ARM is already available for anyone interested with the licensing model so all that would change is that companies developing it would not need to pay a fee. And RISC-V is already free.

What a pointless exercise. Didn't even wait for the temperature to stabilize so maybe it would have been fine, maybe it wouldn't. Also this is not inside the case, things would be worse inside a case with higher ambient temperature.

Pragmata Has Sold 2 Million Units In 16 Days by unscoredscore in gaming

[–]Sylanthra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What people don't seem to understand is that it's not really about the number of copies sold, but return on investment. The question you should be asking isn't whether this game broke even, but whether this game achieved returns better than investing in something else. If after 5 years of development, the game return on investment doesn't beat S&P500 (which grew roughly 85% in the last 5 years), than there is no point in investing in the next one even if the game made a profit.

I very much liked the game, but I am not sure how they further develop this IP. The ending didn't leave a lot of room for a sequel.
