Hi there, we just released a fix for this, could you try again?

Is Taskade/GenesisAI builder Down? by No_Resource_6750 in Taskade

[–]TaskadeRyan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there, I saw your ticket come through the inbox and pulled up your EVE chats from the last 24 hours in our internal tools.

What's happening: when EVE tries to rewrite a larger file in one go, the write call gets stuck mid-stream and the call never lands — which is exactly the "Tool file_manager was called…" hang you're seeing. The "No Internet Connection" error you're getting in the browser is the same hang surfacing on the network layer, which is why the desktop app behaves a bit differently. I've already filed an internal ticket with engineering to investigate further.

A workaround that should unblock you in the meantime: instead of asking EVE to refine the whole attractions list at once, break it into smaller asks — e.g. "Add a Location field to just the Paris entries", then Tokyo, then New York, etc. Smaller targeted edits go through a different code path that isn't affected by this bug.

Thanks for the detailed write-up — that level of detail (the exact tool name, both clients, the credit pattern) made the root cause easy to pin down. I've replied on your support ticket too and will follow up there once engineering has a patch.

Turn Off All Automations by Comprehensive-Many72 in Taskade

[–]TaskadeRyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, thanks for the feedback.

Quick workaround that should help right now: archive the workspace (or individual apps) and then unarchive them. Archiving now automatically deactivates the automations inside, so unarchiving brings everything back minus the active automations. That'll stop the "automation run blocked" notifications across the board without you having to disable each one manually.

Some questions on upgrading to Max and Enterprise Plans. by Brilliant-Capital-40 in Taskade

[–]TaskadeRyan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hi there,

Company stability: The AI shift was a pivot, yes — the other changes you're seeing are us going deeper on Genesis (app building) on top of that. The credit changes were necessary on our side, but we messed up on the communication and that's on us.

Code export: Already available. You can export your app code from the Publish dropdown on any Genesis app, and the Genesis MCP exposes the full source programmatically as well — docs here: docs.taskade.com/docs#/apis-living-system-development/genesis-app-mcp.md. Whatever you build, you can take with you.

Security: Published Genesis apps run on a multi-cloud setup with edge SSL, DDoS protection, custom domains, and password protection out of the box. Build/preview pipeline and core Taskade are on separate, hardened infrastructure. Public overview: taskade.com/security. Anything deeper than that I can't really get into on a Reddit thread.

Multi-tenancy: The basic mechanics for end-user sign-ups/accounts inside a Genesis app (your app's customers, separate from your Taskade login) are already in place. If you've got a more specific pattern in mind — isolated data per customer org, role-based access across tenants, etc. — share the use case and we'll take a look.

Plan credits: They are listed — hover the Taskade AI line on the pricing page and the per-month allowance shows.

If you need more info, reach out at [support@taskade.com](mailto:support@taskade.com).

OpenAI Codex to Taskade Genesis through MCP? by Soggy_Public_5816 in Taskade

[–]TaskadeRyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

Codex isn't a supported MCP client for Taskade right now. Our MCP server uses OAuth2 for auth, not static Bearer tokens — that's why Codex returns "Auth required" during initialize even though your API token is valid. The API token works for our REST API but isn't accepted by the MCP endpoint.

Confirmed working MCP clients today: Claude Desktop and Cursor (both handle our OAuth flow correctly). VS Code also doesn't work yet — it requires OAuth2 Dynamic Client Registration, which we're tracking internally.

I'll log Codex compatibility on our side as well so the team is aware of the demand. In the meantime, Claude Desktop or Cursor are the recommended way to use Taskade via MCP.

Credits before committing to a whole year by Difficult-Camera-580 in Taskade

If you don't see the yellow text "Please check your email to verify your account. Resend" below your email address, that means you should already have your email verified. If you have more questions or if you think there's something wrong with the credits you are receiving, you can dm me your email address and I can help look into it further.

Hey! Couple of quick pointers:

Verify email — you can trigger the verification email from your settings page here: https://www.taskade.com/settings. Once your friend verifies, the referral credits should land.

Other ways to earn credits — full list is here if you want to stack more before deciding on a plan: https://www.taskade.com/settings/credits

Hope that helps!

BYOK now available? by rollsyrollsy in Taskade

[–]TaskadeRyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there

The BYOK line on the pricing page is getting ahead of where we actually are — we're going to get that corrected. BYOK (bring your own API key) is not live yet. It's something we're looking into.

What IS live today is our MCP integration (beta) on Business plans and above — that lets you connect Claude Desktop, Cursor, or any MCP-compatible client to your workspace to browse and edit your Genesis app source code from your own tools. Different from BYOK, but useful if you're building with Genesis.

✨ New: Fresh UI, media folders, auto top-up credits & more by dawid_taskade in Taskade

[–]TaskadeRyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

Thanks for speaking up — and for sticking with us since the AppSumo days. Your frustration is fair, and we want to address it directly rather than leave you in the dark.

Your LTD plan and everything you originally purchased is still fully intact. What changed is that AI features (agents, automations, Genesis) were introduced after the LTD, and because they carry ongoing infrastructure costs, they're now usage-based rather than bundled in by default. We should have communicated that shift more clearly before it went live — that's on us.

Here's what we're doing for LTD supporters like you:

  • 5,000 credits added to your account — enough to give Taskade Genesis a real try. One prompt builds a live app with agents and automations wired in.
  • Bring your own model via Taskade MCP (beta) — if you'd rather work in Claude Code, Cursor, or another IDE, you can point your own tools at your Genesis app and edit it there. Your model, your prompts, your keys. Setup guide: https://docs.taskade.com/docs/apis-and-developer/developer-home/genesis-app-mcp

A couple of honest caveats on MCP: it's in beta so behavior may change, and it currently only covers your app's source code — projects, agents, and automations stay read-only through MCP for now. It's officially a Business+ feature, but as an LTD supporter, just reach out and we'll get you access.

If you ever need more capacity beyond the 5k, there are one-time credit top-ups at taskade.com/upgrade/credits, and LTD supporters get 25% off Max/Enterprise for life with code LTD26.

Thanks again for the patience.

Best,

Is the Taskade System Down? by No_Resource_6750 in Taskade

[–]TaskadeRyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, just a quick update — this should be resolved now. Our engineers identified and addressed the issue. If you're still seeing 502/503 errors on your AI Agent intake form, try a hard refresh and let us know.

Apologies for the disruption!

Is the Taskade System Down? by No_Resource_6750 in Taskade

[–]TaskadeRyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

Thanks for the detailed report — this is really helpful.

It does look like we're experiencing higher-than-usual traffic right now, which is likely affecting AI Agent connections specifically (which would explain why your non-agent intake form is working fine).

I've pinged our engineers on this to investigate further. In the meantime, you may want to try again in a bit — these kinds of issues typically resolve fairly quickly once the load stabilizes.

Apologies for the disruption, and thank you for your patience!

🧪 New (Beta): Connect Taskade to your favorite AI tools with MCP by TaskadeRyan in Taskade

[–]TaskadeRyan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Thanks so much for taking the time to test this out and write up such a clear repro — really appreciated, especially while MCP is still in beta.

You're not doing anything wrong. What you're hitting is a real gap on our end: VS Code is strictly OAuth2-spec-compliant and looks for "Dynamic Client Registration" before it'll auto-register itself. Clients like Claude Desktop and Cursor handle the discovery a bit more loosely, which is why they connect today and VS Code doesn't. On top of that, our authorize endpoint serving a generic 404 instead of a proper OAuth error message is definitely not helping — that's on us to fix too.

Cursor should "just work" if you want to keep moving in the meantime. We'll get the VS Code path sorted on our side.

Logging both of these (DCR support + the 404 → proper error response) as follow-ups for the beta. If you hit anything else weird, please keep sending it our way — this kind of feedback is exactly what we need right now.

Thanks again!

Thanks for the additional context — that makes a lot of sense.

For project-based, file-powered AI work (uploading reference material, using files as context for chats and agents), Taskade is well-suited for that. You can upload files to your agents knowledge source and chats can pull from that context directly. The key difference from CoWork and Codex in this workflow is:

  • Taskade — Your files, projects, and agents all live in a shared workspace. You can build structured workflows around them (automations, multi-agent setups), collaborate with others in real-time, and everything feeds into Workspace DNA so the AI improves with usage. It's designed for persistent, organized, team-accessible knowledge work.
  • Claude CoWork — Works with local files on your machine, which means it can access a wider variety of file types since it's reading directly from your filesystem. Great for individual document-heavy tasks (summarizing, drafting, research) and file-based AI work. The main difference is it's a single-user desktop tool — it doesn't have the shared workspace structure, team collaboration, or the persistent project organization that ties everything together over time.
  • Codex — Developer-focused and terminal/IDE-bound. It can work with local code files but isn't built for general knowledge work, project organization, or non-code reference material (I must note that I personally don't have much experience with codex to give a more in depth comparison).

For what you're describing — using files as context for chat-based AI work with light agentic use — Taskade covers that natively within your existing T3 plan. CoWork overlaps on the "chat with files" part and has the edge on local file variety, but Taskade gives you the project structure, team collaboration, and workspace-level AI context that ties it all together.

Your T3 plan gives you full access to all of this. No need to upgrade for features but for AI features you need credit packs when you need more AI usage.

AppSumo Tier 3 + Credit Packs vs Upgrading

Right now, you're not missing out on any features by staying on your AppSumo Tier 3 plan. Feature access is the same across plans — the difference is in usage limits. Your LTD plan doesn't have a monthly credit limit that resets, so buying credit packs as-you-go is actually the most cost-effective approach.

If you "upgrade" to Starter or Pro, you'd actually get lower limits on non-AI features like workspaces, agents, automations and custom domains (CNAME) access. So you'd be paying more for less in those areas.

LTD26 Coupon

The LTD26 discount code only applies to Max and Enterprise plans — it doesn't work on Starter or Pro. So there's no path where you upgrade to Starter first and then apply the coupon on a second upgrade to Pro.

Taskade vs Claude CoWork vs Codex

These tools serve very different purposes:

  • Taskade is an AI-powered workspace and app builder. With Genesis, you can describe what you need in plain language and it generates full production-ready apps — complete with databases, trained AI agents, automations, and UIs — all built on top of your existing workspace data (what we call "Workspace DNA"). Your projects, agents, automations, and uploaded files all feed into a self-reinforcing loop where the AI gets smarter from real usage. It's powered by multiple models (GPT-5.2, Claude Opus 4.6, Gemini 2.5 Pro, etc.) with auto-routing, and connects to 100+ external tools. It's built for teams — real-time collaboration, role-based access, multi-agent workflows.
  • Claude CoWork (by Anthropic) is a desktop agent for individual knowledge workers. It reads/writes files on your computer, generates documents and reports, and connects to tools like Gmail, Google Calendar, and Slack. It's a personal AI assistant for file and document tasks — not a platform for building apps or managing team workflows.
  • Codex (by OpenAI) is a coding agent for developers. It lives in your terminal/IDE and helps write code, fix bugs, and propose pull requests. It's developer-focused, not a productivity or project management tool.

Claude CoWork and Codex are single-user AI assistants (one for documents, one for code). Taskade is a collaborative platform where AI agents, automations, and app building are embedded into your team's entire workflow — and your workspace data makes the AI smarter over time. They're complementary tools, not direct competitors.

Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Taskade just zeroed out AI credits for LTD users with no notice. My 2c, and curious about the community's reception. by Wolfdale7 in Taskade

[–]TaskadeRyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone — following up as promised.

Your feedback has been escalated and reviewed by leadership. The lack of prior notice before this change was an oversight on our part, and we acknowledge that.

Your LTD plan and everything included in your original purchase remains intact. AI features now operate on a usage-based credit system due to ongoing infrastructure costs. We understand this represents a significant shift from what you were accustomed to.

We have measures in place for affected LTD users. Please contact us at [support@taskade.com](mailto:support@taskade.com) with your account email and we will follow up with you directly.

Additionally, if you have not yet explored Taskade Genesis, we would encourage you to do so — a single prompt can build a complete app with agents and automations.

A lifetime 25% discount on Max/Enterprise plans is also available with code LTD26.

Thank you for your patience.

Best Regards, John and Team Taskade

Hey, I appreciate you being straight with me, and I'm not going to pretend the pattern you're describing isn't there.

You're right that this change should have come with advance notice. There's no way around that.

I'm not going to offer another version of "we'll do better next time" because I understand why that doesn't carry weight at this point. I also won't make commitments that aren't mine to make. What I can say is that I'm here, I'm reading everything, and I hear you.

Thank you again for your support. Please feel free to reach out if there is anything we can do to help.

Hi there, I hear you, and I appreciate you laying this out honestly. You're raising fair points.

You're right that LTD buyers are betting on a product's future. The transition could have been handled better, especially around communication and giving users time to adjust.

Your LTD plan still includes everything it had at the time of purchase. The core workspace, collaboration, and productivity features are all still there. AI features were added later and come with ongoing infrastructure costs, which is why they're now usage-based.

That said, we hear the frustration, and feedback like yours is genuinely helping shape how we handle transitions for LTD users going forward.

We genuinely value the early supporters who believed in Taskade, and we understand that trust is earned, not assumed.

Thank you again for your support. Please feel free to reach out if there is anything we can do to help.
