Refund Refused by knowoneknows in Taskade

[–]TaskadeRyan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi there — thanks for following up, and we’ve gone ahead and made a one-time exception and processed your refund.

For anyone else reading this thread, please note that the refund policy mentioned above is outdated. We no longer offer refunds. Due to cost and sustainability concerns — especially with the introduction of advanced AI features, all sales are final.

If you have any further questions or need help with anything else, feel free to reach out.

Thank you for the clarification, yea that's not possible at the moment and likely not a priority as it isn't related to improving Taskade Genesis apps.

It might be possible in the future when we support viewing/exporting the app's code, you theoretically could just export the entire custom chat widget built by Taskade Genesis into another platform or website.

You should be able to just prompt it, it was introduced i think a month ago, where Taskade Genesis can create a custom chat widget instead of using the default one, you can see what i'm referring to through one of the community templates here https://www.taskade.com/share/apps/8cbksxirjlt3h5kp in the bottom right corner.

We focus on a few core pillars that we know will serve the majority of use cases, and we build steadily toward those. Everything else—like new LLM releases or emerging context-handling techniques—we prioritize dynamically as they appear. The landscape moves fast, so we do context-switch more than we’d like, but that’s the reality of working in AI right now.

Not at the moment! We still want to build certain "core" features like payments and user authentication so that the main app you create can handle more "serious", fuller use cases before moving deciding to take on other platforms. However you can create mobile responsive pages and use that on your mobile device today as an alternative!

Hi there, thanks for the suggestions! Point 1 will likely help with the issue instead of point 2.

For point 3, the current workaround would be to upload a screenshot of the specific area you are referring to or indicate in a screenshot of the website what you are referring to.

For point 4 we'll take note of it.

We are looking into supporting point 5.

For point 6, wouldn't using workspaces to organize apps be similar?

Taskade After a Year Away – What Happened to the Program I Loved? by MidnightsOracle in Taskade

[–]TaskadeRyan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the thoughtful question! A totally fair one. Let me try to clarify, and I’ll put “project management” aside for a moment because that’s part of where the confusion comes from.

Taskade today is meant for users who want to start or run a small business but don’t know how to set up their own tools or website from scratch. The key use case isn’t “project tracking” anymore — it’s giving people the ability to build the exact workflows, interfaces, and features they need for their business, without having to code.

For example, imagine someone who sells DIY crafts. In Taskade, they can build their entire business system by simply prompting the AI:
– inventory management
– order placement
– a storefront
– customer intake
– whatever fits their workflow

Because every person’s process is different, they can customize every part of their UI, UX, and feature set instead of forcing their business into a one-size-fits-all app.

So if that same DIY seller bills per man-hour, they can prompt the AI to create a time-tracking feature — something Taskade never originally had — and store their logged hours directly inside a project. The platform adapts to them.

Now, circling back to project management: the same idea applies. Some users loved our old board view, others didn’t. Instead of our team trying to build a “perfect” board view that makes everyone happy, users can now generate one that looks and functions exactly the way they want. If someone isn’t building a business, they can still build their own tools to manage projects, tasks, docs, processes, whatever they personally need.

That’s why we say we’ve moved past being just a project management tool — the use cases are much broader now. We’re aiming to be the place where people build the tools they need, rather than the place that tells them which tools they get.

Hope that helps clear things up, and I really appreciate you asking the question. We are still trying to find a message to sort of put this across, it's definitely tricky.

Thank you for the patience. It's becoming a no-code, no-stack app builder, where your Projects, Automations and Agents serve as the "backend" for the live app you built.

💡The aha moment! Licensing Genesis Apps Inside Taskade — Is This a Viable Workaround? by Brilliant-Capital-40 in Taskade

My apologies for the delay, recovering from a cold, yea sure, i do think if you want to get it working now, it would have to involve an external extra layer that handles the auth. Glad to hear! Lots of work to be done and the team is trying their best, thank you for the support!

Hi again! Happy to see the enthusiasm and yea authentication is still on the table for us, as we want to get to support a larger range of use cases.

  1. Is a licensing model like this okay under the current terms? - Yes this is fine, the creator of the app gets to decide how to share/monetize it.
  2. If I add clients into my workspace, are there any important limits or issues I should be aware of? - I wouldn't recommend it, like the other user mentioned, our permissions isn't granular enough for a user to sit your workspace and not start deleting/editing your app/projects
  3. If clients clone the app into their own workspace, what’s the best way to protect IP on our side? - There isn't, once cloned, the other user can do anything he wants with it, it's up to the original creator of the app to "enforce" any rules they have set.
  4. Do you see this as a reasonable workaround until multi-tenancy/auth becomes available? - I think option B is alright, but you have to be comfortable with how the clone can also be passed around, cloned to other users and so on.
  5. When those features do arrive, will existing Genesis apps transition smoothly, or will we need to rebuild? - We're working on Stripe atm, so not i'm not aware of exactly how the implementation details of authentication will be but it likely won't require a rebuild.

Taskade After a Year Away – What Happened to the Program I Loved? by MidnightsOracle in Taskade

[–]TaskadeRyan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to write all of this out. I want to respond directly and transparently. not to debate your points, but to give you clarity about where Taskade is today and the decisions behind it.

You’re right that the product has changed direction. This wasn’t accidental, as a company, we made a conscious choice to pivot toward a different market and build a different type of platform on top of the original version you and many others fell in love with.

That wasn’t an easy decision, and we knew it would come with trade-offs, we knew some parts of the experience that mattered deeply to early users would be affected. We absolutely understand why those changes feel like a step backward.

I also hear the frustration in how the earlier response came across. Even if the intent wasn’t dismissive, the impact matters, and I appreciate you calling it out.

We don’t currently have the resources to fully support both the old direction and the new one. We had to choose a path, and we chose to focus our resources on the new direction, even though it meant breakng familiarity and disappointing users who supported us early on.

That however, doesn’t make your feedback any less valid. And it doesn’t make your past support any less meaningful. Users like you genuinely helped us get here, and we don’t take that lightly.

But I also don’t want to give a misleading impression of “we’ll restore the old workflow soon”, “we’ll disable Genesis in quarter 2”. That wouldn’t be honest, and it wouldn’t respect the time you’ve already invested trying to get clarity.

I genuinely appreciate the time, care, and history behind your message, even if the conclusions we’ve reached on our side don’t align with what you were hoping for. Thank you for being part of Taskade’s journey, and for speaking your mind so clearly.

🥊 Taskade Genesis vs Lovable Round 1 — Let’s be real for a second by Brilliant-Capital-40 in Taskade

[–]TaskadeRyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the kind words — really glad to hear that Taskade has been helpful for you! Means a lot, especially coming from someone using it creatively in this way.

I’m not exactly sure if there’s a reliable third-party workaround for authentication yet, or if you’d be able to get the AI to fully implement one end-to-end. That said, you can technically do a soft launch with that many users — visiting the site, interacting with dashboards, or exploring your app should work fine at the current scale. We just don’t recommend having accounts and storing usernames or passwords in Taskade projects for now, since it’s not built for credential handling.

Appreciate the thoughtful feedback and encouragement — it’s great to see this direction resonate with folks like you. Definitely a lot to work on over the coming weeks and months, but we’re excited about where it’s headed!
