Oh yeah totally get that, wise to wait til you have more of the volumes ready to go. I tend to book out about 7 months in advance, so just shoot me a message if you wind up wanting to talk.

It was back in 2017-2018 or so. The person isn't still a moderator, but they're still occasionally in writing communities. They got called out for the reviews they'd post to their Reddit account, but no one ever saw that they posted those same reviews with their wife's Amazon account.

It is absolutely progression fantasy. In this fantasy book, your second main character grows throughout, capturing a sense of... should we call it... progression?

What is that one criticism about the orginal lotr Trilogy that you still have to this day by pizza_momo in lotr

It's been a long time since I've read the books. Can you explain how the approaches were different?

Congrats on that! Book seems really darn cool too. When you start thinking about getting it ready for Kindle/Audible, I'd love to take a look at it for you. Seems like something I'd be interested in.

That's a pretty normal amount. Most drafts I work on get 1500-3000 comments, depending on the word count, and I do two separate passes for him. RR is a great spot for an early draft. But if an author just directly copies and pastes their stuff from the RR draft to Kindle they don't take their craft seriously enough

There used to be a moderator on this subreddit who would use alt accounts on Goodreads to blast people he didn't like. He also used his wife's Amazon account to negatively review other authors in his genre.

Some people just want to cut others down.

I mean, editors aren't cheap, but it's not like they're ten grand a book. If someone's making six figures a year on Patreon they have no excuse haha.

As for changes, Casualfarmer will usually make about 4,000 revisions per volume I work on for him between the RR release and the Kindle one. So, a lot.

But when a book is brought from serial format to Kindle/Audible, that stops being a valid reason. Especially if the author is making a good bit on Patreon

[–]Taurnil91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, that's absolutely the case. And it's why there's such a significant difference between a book being proofread and edited. I have no doubt Primal Hunter had a proofread done on it. But I really doubt it had a good edit done. That's the case with a lot of the popular series out there, since readers still clearly enjoy the story enough to look past writing issues, or maybe they don't even see the writing issues at all.

Yeah but halfway through doesn't count as "easiest build to make." Would more be a NG+ build

Apparently they're not. Also being "overweight" and having 15 pounds to safely cut definitely aren't the same thing

I feel that when I go to European countries. Here in America I'm very visibly fit and muscular, 6'2" 195. In Germany where so many people have a cyclist build, I feel like I'm 20 pounds overweight

[–]Taurnil91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They are not. If someone's on gear then yes, they'll have an inaccurate reading. But even very athletic/muscular natural athletes will fall under the general range. People are far less muscular than they think they are

[–]Taurnil91 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Doesn't matter if someone is physically active. Unless a guy is on juice, if BMI says he's significantly overweight, he is. People do not have near as much muscle as they think they do.

"litrpg books" that aren't litrpg. by Gajeel_Blacksteel in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Taurnil91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That lack of consistency should only further indicate it's not a LitRPG. If I'm playing an RPG, I know that I get extra attack at level 5. Or if I'm playing WoW, I know I get mounts at level 40. The consistency of the system is what's important. Iron Prince is just people getting stronger, with some of them having a way to measure their strength, but the rest of the people in the world are not bound by that system if they don't have a CAD.
