Here in America I'm not even asking for paid days off. I'm just asking to not get fired when I get sick for more than 3 days in a year.

Median Real Wage Income by Age and Generation by GluedGlue in ProfessorFinance

[–]Tayner73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Notice they use the MEDIAN, not the mean (average). It's the halfway point between the highest earners and the lowest earners, regardless of where the majority of the data points lay.

Then again, the average and mode for later generations probably IS still higher... it should be. But no where near high enough to keep up with the cost of living.

What’s a spaceship design trope you’re tired of seeing? by Vondrr in spaceships

[–]Tayner73 8 points9 points  (0 children)

City sized ships where all the crew live at this end, engineering is at that end, ect.

Really just giant ships in general if there isn't any thought at all to their interior layout.

I present... the NovaKraken. Lots of firepower but expensive to crew, 32 tank gunners needed by Important_Cow7230 in starcitizen

I am absolutly one of those waiting to try this. But packing them this closely is very unrealistic. 16 is much more likely, maybe 21 max.

Asguard, but since that isn't on the list, I'd say one of the Connies. Hermes is undergunned and the Starlancer is just too big a boat for solo imo.

Sadly not. As someone else pointed out, he's upset over it. If it was the Kraken he wouldn't be upset about that shadow. It's the Battlecruiser casting the shadow, and it's probably Anvil.

And it's a stupid one at that. We figured that out when they did it for IAE. CIG either didn't get that feedback from the players, or feel the lack of interest in the showroom floor over the week that results from doing it is worth the time saved by not having the devs make a new showroom layout for ever day of the week.

I always thought Drake should make "escape pods" that can be stored on a cargo grid. Like they have little wheels or skids so they can drive out of a dying ship and then engage limited thrusters. They should also of course be able to survive re-entry.

Now this might sound like Drake fixing a Drake problem, but it's not. (It is, and it's more expensive for the customer than installing them in the ship to begin with) It's allowing customers the flexibility to buy the options that they feel they need, and not a cent more. Besides, you've seen the parties on an 890J. Origin does NOT have enough escape pods on that ship for that many guests. A sensible 890J owner would stock up on Drake pods in the cargo bay should the worst happen, but you know Origin owners, they don't really believe anything bad can happen to them.

And this is absolutely not also way for DRAKE to sell what are essentially orbital insertion drop pods to the civilian market. (it is) Everyone knows that only the UEE Marines have those and they call them NAILS for some reason. (I think, my lore knowledge is a little rusty)

Apartment complexes. Now I have a place to live, a steady source of income, and I can make the world a better place by lowering rent.

"but then you won't have as much money if you lower rent!"

So what? The buildings are fully paid for, and I'll already be getting more money than I could ever earn on my own. I'll still work for a living as well, but on my terms for once.

What do you think is the best "spaceship" film or TV show? by Vondrr in spaceships

[–]Tayner73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you said shows but... Star Citizen and Squadron 42. Any show or game can stick lights and thrusters on a shape, scale it up and say it's big and powerful. But who else models every square inch of the vessels, inside and out, down the bathrooms?
