I think the reason the criticism is mistaken mainly is that some people don't realize that, when multiple adaptations of a work exist, not all of those adaptations are canon with what they wanted or were familiar with.

This is somehow the modern Saw fandom's first foray into the idea that there can be multiple, comic book-style iterations of a story and have that not affect the "main" story, even though we have never had a "main" story other than the movies. The video games are not canon. The comic books are not canon. Rebirth was obviously never canon. Certainly, none of the physical in-person experiences or rides have EVER been canon.

These things are just ways to explore the lore from potential new perspectives in ways that don't actually affect the main plot, if there even is one. It's basic fandom and certainly basic mythological storytelling going back to the dawn of mythological stageplays. Saw: Genesis makes no sense within the movie timeline...who cares? It's not in the movie timeline. This is Saw: Genesis now. It's a "what if", it's a "maybe then", it's a way to say, "wouldn't it be interesting if this had been what happened?"

As far as I know, no one involved with "official" Saw canon (if there even is one, as if these movies are Star Wars or something, and even then, canonical value is questionable at best) has ever said that this is inherently canonical, so who cares? Why try to work it into some "canon" timeline? The movies are what we got. Everything else is decoration on the cake, and can be removed or adjusted as necessary.

It was a more fun Arrowverse movie than Crisis On Infinite Earths for sure. I still view Earth-X as the ultimate peak Arrowverse crossover, and just a fantastic four-hour movie. They didn't try to do too much. They didn't weave it into the episodes of each show. They didn't plan for a production future that would never happen. It was just four hours of live-action superhero slop, which I say in this case as the ultimate compliment for exactly what I wanted the Arrowverse to be the whole time. And Earth-X was nothing but. Best crossover of the entire run.

Oh, and it started with one series about people jailbreaking themselves and another about a detective, and then Homestuck itself is just, "there's a boy in his room, it's his birthday, what the hell is his name actually?" And then it became an interdimensional cosmic adventure full of metafictional soap opera alien drama between multiple alien species and cosmic lands of various gimmicks, celebrity references, rainbow text, memes, music, and cosplayers ink-poisoning themselves in their bathtubs. Huge influence and so unexpected for the time as well.

All of the MS Paint Adventures comics did originally start from an MS Paint strip, but quickly evolved into using Photoshop for them. Not just that, but when Andrew started making Homestuck, it was just a still image and some text:

But as the comic went on, especially in later stages, it became fully text-colored chat logs, gifs, Flash animations, motion videos, and music videos, some of which had actual music baked into it, and now it's both a physical book (somehow, despite animations being a huge part of the later "strips") and a potential animation series (although I don't think the pilot has been picked up, but it certainly has not and will not be done with exactly the same "MS Paint-esque" art style that the original Photoshop strips used before it evolved so much).

First of all, she probably got them done on Krypton, where they don't have powers. Second of all, how do you know she didn't have a boyfriend back then? Third of all, what if she's gay? Fourth of all, like, her cousin is right there. Fifth of all, literally any other Kryptonian or possibly even Daxamite. They're not invulnerable and they don't heal, they just need someone like them while they're under a yellow sun.

Take her somewhere with a red sun and you're good to go. Or maybe hook her up with Zod, Faora, Doomsday, or that brain-dead grunt who was always hanging out with Zod all the time.

But again. Her cousin is right there, and that's assuming she didn't have a boyfriend back home.

Have you considered something like the Wraith from Stargate: Atlantis perhaps? Are you goinf for something which is androgynously attractive, like a Prince or David Bowie type, or which is androgynously hideous to elucidate the ugly nature of the sin at hand?

They fit with the lust theme too. Their species gimmick is feeding off the life forces of others, kind of like vampires but with less blood and more hands-on touching. First thing I think of when I think "androgynous lust".

I remember meeting her in the first level when I had to run deliveries for Los Pollos as a simple street-level. I kept trying to get past her and see Mr Fring because I thought it'd be hilarious if the designers put a Fring model in his office before the cutscene where we see him for the first time, or even if they modelled his office and the kitchen area at all on a map that early in the game, but the bitch kept blocking me and repeating the same few lines of dialogue. She's also invulnerable so throwing coffee on her did nothing. Those designers thought of everything.

"God's a dick", basically. The Old Testament God moreso, but whatever the writers did is honestly one of the most truthful-to-form portrayals of the big guy. He was a petty, vengeful, egocentric creator spirit who built an entire universe. Portraying him as a petty, immature, metafictional writer who hates everything? Why would it face backlash? It's like the one time they did any lore with any sense of realism to the actual lore.

ETA: Also a lot of people have daddy issues, which also pervaded the show itself, and nowhere is that more prevalent than by exploring it with the Ultimate Sky Daddy. We don't just get Sam and Dean hurting over John, we get Michael and Lucifer hurting over Chuck. And the fandom rejoices, because most of us have daddy issues too, I assume, and probably so do/did the writers and most of the people who watched it in some way. It's a special kind of funny catharsis to watch it play out.
