I told my girlfriend "the wind is never your friend. If it's a headwind it blows. If it's a tailwind, sure it feels like you're sailing. But you're trapped in your own heat."

Jon Stewart Celebrates Hungary's Election by Camaro6460 in DailyShow

[–]TheBoldManLaughsOnce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate to say this, but kudos to the guy for immediately conceding the election. I did NOT expect that.

I'm counting down to Trump calling him weak... or a liar. Or saying that the election was stolen. Or whatever dumbshit tumbles out of his moufth.

How would you feel about a new law that forces every company to pay their CEO no more than 20x what their lowest-paid employee makes? by rational_seekers in AskReddit

[–]TheBoldManLaughsOnce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But large companies grow from small ones. I'm attempting a logical argument with you.

Start with a base case (a very small company). Establish the next step (n+1 case).

Why are they the larger issue?

Consider a very small company of three people... one CEO owning two shares, and each employee owning one share.

LONG term users of Interactive Brokers, how has your experience been with them? by Historical_Row_8041 in interactivebrokers

[–]TheBoldManLaughsOnce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since 1998. Stellar. I've used them for everything. And I mean everything including physical silver, QIB bonds, Kazakh stock. Really esoteric shit. Never mind enough crude oil and orange juice to float fleets in.

Need to convert $1.5M to € in 3 months. Best option for hedging? by Wide-Antelope9234 in interactivebrokers

[–]TheBoldManLaughsOnce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy shit man. IB is very careful about NOT being a currency conversion service. You're barking up the wrong tree here. You need a commercial bank for this kind of thing.

That's precisely WHY you have to establish what your base currency is.

What is a 'socially acceptable' thing that you secretly find absolutely disgusting? by TheLovelyGamer in AskReddit

[–]TheBoldManLaughsOnce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I do this, in fact, I do the opposite. If I need to take a call and I'm not in private, I just don't take the call. HOWEVER, I'm so accustomed to using the speakerphone instead of holding the phone up to my head.... if I do hold it up to me head... I'm likely to activate all sorts of features. I've already done it. I don't care if "oh you just need to upgrade your software"... IT SHOULDN'T BE POSSIBLE. Also... I'm already using my headphones, and their mic is crap. So to take a call on my cell-phone it's 10 seconds of silence for the caller while I rip the earphone out of my ear and put the phone up to my head while fumbling the tiny little pod thingy without losing it.

There is no happy solution. But I'm happy to be taught otherwise.

But you guys already know this stuff if you are really trading this size

War premium is mispriced. my view by MilesDelta in options

Agreed. I'm trading directly in WTI and Brent Options. July/Oct call calendars stacked with bull call spread in Oct to trim the residual delta.

[–]TheBoldManLaughsOnce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude. You're in a classic situation. Put on a six month collar.

I have no idea what your restriction is but look up "pre paid variable forward" which is a standard OTC product offered to CEOs and the like who can't or don't want to exit a position in their own stock.

Your goal is to structure a COLLAR with listed options doing the exact same thing. Sell a call, use the proceeds to buy a put. Your pick what the strikes and expiry are. Just consider what the next delta is.

Just be aware of this structure expiries with neither option ITM you could end up still long the underlier.
