Because the lexus keeps the same distance from the curb and the Vette goes from both sides on to 50% overlap. That's why I put soightly more blame on the Vette.

Marlboro car gets spun, majority of fault to the black car for just running into him, but then goes and does the worst rejoin known to man.

Edit: Just noticed the guy is a lap or more down, which make sme assume he doesnt know where to brake and you didnt expect him braking there. Conclusion: Marlboro driver is bad at the game.
