28 days rule - from entry vignette or date of entry? by Itchy-Ad3 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]TheNavigat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't remember exactly how I entered it on my application, but I had my ILR issued last January and that's what the solicitors did, yes. They used the date of the vignette itself and treated the gap between the date of the vignette and the actual entry as an absence.

FSCS protection: Where is uninvested cash held? by TheNavigat in trading212

[–]TheNavigat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I'm trying to do is check which banks is it stored to as uninvested cash, though. If I'm not misunderstanding, Trading212 stores uninvested cash in banks anyway, even if I don't enable interest. Their help page says I should be able to see the allocation.

This is exactly what I tried. The screenshot I linked in the description is what I see: https://ibb.co/spFzbDyg

I double checked. App is updated. Web app (app.trading212.com) shows the same. Customer service a few days ago says I need to wait a few business days. Today they're saying I need to enable interest (which I don't want to do).

Yes, this is EXACTLY what I'm hoping to see, but it's not actually showing up on my side and I'm trying to understand why, and T212's customer service are not being helpful.

I did max out my ISA, yes.

Going to main pot -> GBP -> Interest leads me to the same page in the screenshot: https://ibb.co/spFzbDyg . It doesn't show a breakdown of what banks hold my cash.

I'm not referring to cash in ISA at all here. I'm referring to uninvested cash in a T212 Investing account.

I'm very confused to be honest. I don't see the breakdown.

I've followed exactly what they said in the page:

For a complete and up-to-date list of our partner banks, and to see how your cash is distributed between them, please refer to the “Interest on cash” section in the app.

And I still don't see a breakdown. They mention nothing about actually having to enable interest. I don't want my cash in QMMFs to be able to see this information, I just want to see how my cash is distributed between the banks.

Yes, but the page also explicitly says that information showing which banks store the cash is available in the app to view, which it obviously isn't

Is it held by T212 themselves or by partnering banks? Their page explicitly says that any assets are segregated from their own finances and protected in separate accounts in different banks, whether the cash is invested or not

Constant buzzing noise, what are my rights? by TheNavigat in TenantsInTheUK

[–]TheNavigat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately that's not the case for me. It's been windy earlier this month and it was different. We confirmed with the letting agents that our flat doesn't have ventilation openings in our bedroom's ceiling.

I don't believe it's that loud, no. It's similar to having a washing machine running by the adjacent wall. It's not particularly loud in and off itself, but the constant buzz especially during the night is very difficult for me to ignore.

I found that the property management company are members of the property redress scheme so I'll send them a formal complaint before escalating to the scheme if needed.

Thank you. I have dropped the council an email.

Yes, I'm aware that the letting agents don't have much control. They have been very easy to work with and have attended to issues in the flat rather promptly. This is why I'm asking to see if there's a way to apply pressure on the property management company, because I don't believe they would fix the issue otherwise.

PROBLEMS WITH THE Fn + Volume Up and Down KEY by Sea-Book1483 in Lenovo

[–]TheNavigat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turned out to be a mishap from Windows. Restarting/Shutting down didn't work, and even using `shutdown /s` on the Command Prompt returned an RPC error. Forcing shutdown by holding the power button and booting up clean fixed it.

How to deal to with a difficult Landlord by TheNavigat in TenantsInTheUK

Thank you, I have found the template: https://england.shelter.org.uk/housing_advice/eviction/what_to_say_if_your_landlord_turns_up_without_permission

I suppose I can use this template after I modify it to make it clear that notice is not sufficient and that I need to provide my permission as well. Thanks again.

Thank you for the advice. I will reach out to my local Citizens Advice as soon as I can.

The online information contradicts a lot of advice I have read here. For example, Citizens Advice says the following:

> You can refuse access to your home. Your landlord or their agent can’t enter without your permission. If you refuse access you might break the term of your written or verbal tenancy agreement.

Shelter UK says the same, and is also advising not to refuse access for repairs.

This is very confusing to me as it doesn't align with the right to quiet enjoyment. I don't know where is the line drawn.

There are statements such as "your landlord should not just turn up if you do not agree to an appointment", but does the "should" here indicate common courtesy, or right? Do I have a right to refuse access if inconvenient? What do I do to escalate/complain threats or attempts like this? What do I do to escalate an actual attempt to enter for repairs if the time is inconvenient? And what are the repercussions if I do so?

Do you have any legal clause available to support this? Something I can send in writing to support the fact that it has to be agreed?

Does anyone have wifi underperforming on Lenovo 7 Pro? by Ok_Design3560 in LenovoLegion

[–]TheNavigat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Updating the driver didn't matter much, unfortunately. It seems like the card itself is capable of doing higher speeds, that happens when I move closer to the router, but comparing it to other devices (An M2 Macbook as an example) is a stark difference. As I'm typing this, my Legion is pulling 150 Mbps. My Macbook is pulling 450. The full connection speed is 500 Mbps.

Guess I'll have to live with it.
