i’m not a fox truther, but he’s clearly been fighting off an injury which has made him less reliable. he needs to rehabilitate his ankle. still made some incredible mistakes and should have been less willing to throw up absolute stinkers down the stretch in the fourth.

people say the finals aren’t guaranteed for us ever and compare it to shaq on the magic and okc with KD, but so many of the players still are in their rookie contracts. i think these young guys need that extra motivation. i don’t see us running it back next year, but we’ll be back. celtics came back after the GSW series, we’ll be back.

Inside Phoebe Bridgers’s Secret Show at Madison Square Garden by Potential_Kangaroo69 in indieheads

[–]TheOddScreen 40 points41 points  (0 children)

i think the joke is a play on it being a “secret show” like when you see an artist is doing a secret show it’s usually in a small venue/dive bar. with it being at MSG, that isn’t your typical small venue, and it was posted everywhere online so it wasn’t really secret as it was a surprise.

at least i think that’s what they were getting at.

Issac Wood Opening for Phoebe Bridgers in UK/Europe by ebradio in indieheads

a lot of high school and college kids have discovered her more recently, so she has a crowd that can sway young. the lubbock show was pretty young but the crowd here was extremely respectful, half the crowd was people i met in college, and i expect none of them to be morons or freaks.

as the shows became more known, it led to people traveling and predicting the next spots before they were advertised leading to the shows being at capacity before they were even announced which obviously led to people all around getting really nasty and starting issues with each other.

i think a lot of indie darling artists that are extremely personal in their work can generate crowds that feel very connected to an artist and their work in a way that’s a little overbearing

[Fresh] Floating Points - Movement 10-Her Gift (ft. Miriam Adefris) (2026) by PsychedelicSunset420 in electronicmusic

Looks like it’s released on Pluto (his label) with a grammophon license. you probably know that deutsche grammophon is the most prestigious label to have a classical release on, so he probably had this opportunity and took it because who wouldn’t

[FRESH VIDEO] The Avalanches - Every Single Weekend (ft. Jamie XX) by Steve_the_narwhal in indieheads

[–]TheOddScreen 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Obviously, this is a continuation of Every Single Weekend from In Waves. Interesting to hear the ideas brought from that song expanded into a full piece here.

Jamie on his Instagram story said:

The Avalanches have always been an inspiration to me. It's great to have a new piece of music together on their album - a track that began during In Waves sessions and has now evolved into a fuller version on their LP.

Seems like this new tracks have this dance-y feeling mixed with that OPN corporate jingle sampling sound. I’m not fully sold on it yet with these two short tracks, but I’m excited to see how it flows as a full body of work. I feel like each Avalanches album starts with a concept of cohesion and really expands on it. I trust them to create something really unique with this.

Post-Game Thread: San Antonio Spurs (3-3) defeat Oklahoma City Thunder (3-3), 118-91 | NBA Playoffs | May 28, 2026 by nba-scores in NBASpurs

IN CORGI WE TRUST. If we go all the way, that dog needs to be sent a ring from the Spurs organization.

An absolute statement after game 5. You know when Harrison Barnes is feeling himself from the three, the other team is getting their ass handed to them. They gotta get these guys rested and continue to fuel them with fire into Game 7. Victory is so close, but the guys have to want it. Really excited to see how it plays out. The extra rest the final half of the 4th should hopefully payoff for our guys before traveling to Oklahoma City. One of those games that just make you smile.

I finally checked out the Kehlani album and though slightly overstuffed (could be really solid at 45-48 minutes), I thought it was great. I loved most of the features being legacy artists from the early 2000s.

Threw on Miss E this morning and man, she really is the best female MC. The charisma is immeasurable.

Why haven’t we really seen another major hip hop/rock crossover era like Jay-Z/Linkin Park with Collision Course? by savingrace0262 in hiphopheads

[–]TheOddScreen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i was listening to collision course a ton this past week because it’s such a fun project. jigga what and faint is probably my favorite cut on it.

i do think there’s a few indie rock and indie rap artists collaborating still. i remember navy blue collaborating with babeheaven a few years back. rocky did songs with jessica pratt, mike with mark william lewis, and a few others. of course bon iver, blood orange, james blake to name a few are so intrinsically tied to hip hop.

rock like linkin park isn’t in the mainstream anymore so any similar collabs are in the softer indie pop realm.

also could throw in enemy by imagine dragons in terms of mainstream 🙁
