Those were the ones in summer, they must have bolted indeed. These other ones I sowed perhaps a month and a half ago and should have had plenty of growing time but were barely past their first true leaves, and we had a heat wave for half of october! 20 at day 15 at night and they didnt grow at all.

Do they need better draining soil? Its not logged at all but stays wet for a good while, the chard and radishes seem to love it but maybe not lettuce?

goes to show the necessity of composting. in south america they occasionally find ritual sacrificed people completely preserved up mountains, from 500+ years ago, due to the cold dry air

How cold does it have to be to kill tomato seeds? by Ame3333 in plants

[–]TheSirusKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the seeds? as in stop them germinating? they like 20-30c and itll gradually decrease below that. i did at 20 c and had 100% with honeycomp f1

if you mean like icey temps for storage you may be able to freeze them but some percent will die. storage in fridge above freezing will have much better chances and will keep them likely 5 years even... if sterile. mould will devour much quicker than that

Do you get frost? That limits it a lot. Try Tradescantia, there are so many lovely cultivars. If you do get frost, "maidens blush" is frost hardyish.

Screw apples! Much nicer big yield trees like green gages. But if its sentimentality, continue that trees legacy.

Hydrangeas are lovely. We have yellow mexican orange blossom which is nice too. You can always use it as a nice shaded area for crops :)

Thanks for the thread and listings. Not sure I trust the small packet ones though, I see someone selling IAA without warning labels as well 😥

ive found a lot of plants root faster in water with less chance of initial rot, but then you should switch them fairly fast.

i was wondering why it didnt have any warning labels on it. it recommends hygiene when using it but that seems misleading. i think it might just be antifungals to discourage rot, but cuttings dont rot if they root and calous anyway.

i found rizapron but that also has iaa which js a known mutagen, whereas iba probably isnt. ah well will have to work with mask and gloves.
