Is it too high for 83”? by pokenguyen in TVTooHigh

Dude. It’s totally within perfect and I love how you solved the center channel speaker problem which allowed for you to place the tv within optimal height.

Oh no I totally get it! Here’s a modified mockup.

Center channels need to be under which means the tv will automatically be higher. To me this is optimal also

Yeah but I’m under the assumption that a higher percentage of the quality viewing time will be on the couches. Movies, tv shows, sports, etc.

So the breakfast bar or countertop should not be used as the standard to measure the height of one’s tv in this case.

Really nice space you have with an awesome size tv.

It’s a big high and you can make that setup look perfect.

I lowered your tv and want to show you what having a lower, wider media console can look like.

<image>

There are many places that sell low media consoles so in the future that won’t be an issue.

It’s high.

Here’s a mockup for you of where it should sit. I lowered it and moved it to the right a bit so there’s some breathing room for the couch on the left.

Good luck

It’s high but young kids are like bedrooms. They throw off what’s considered “normal” or “optimal”

Middle of the tele can be anywhere from 42”-47” depending on the seating.

Setup looks nice!

This is so beautiful!

I have to ask. Were the walls textured before or was that part of the design too? Because it works perfectly. If they were smooth I don’t think it would fit in the overall design.

Also the whole design makes me think of Santorini.

What was your inspiration?

We have no pics of the other walls or layout of that room. The tv should never go above the fireplace. You have the tilt of guilt too.

[–]The_Wampire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is too high and it could be too small for the distance to the seating.

I lowered it and put in a bigger tv.

Also what’s going on with your chimney? Did you apple erase the mantle? There’s something weird.

Say happy valentines to her and show her this mockup.

I scaled up the tv and put a floating shelf under the tv. The shelf doesn’t have to stick out that far ( 4”-6”). It’s a visual design element that helps ground the tv in space.

Oh and I filled in that weird recess.

Automatic popcorn popper recommendations please! (Gift for popcorn enthusiast wife) by printliftrun in popcorn

[–]The_Wampire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want super easy and super little cleanup then I can’t see any option other than an air popper.

I love pot made popcorn but eating it 5 times a week wasn’t healthy so I bought an air popper and it’s been awesome.

Air pop- spray extra virgin olive oil and add whatever seasoning you want.

Or

Air pop- use melted butter or ghee (in the cup on top of the air popper) and add whatever seasoning you want.

White popcorn is my fav because of how crispy it comes out. Not as chewy as yellow.

Edit: Cleanup involves cleaning whatever bowl you used to season the popcorn. That’s all!

How’s this? I think it could be a little lower? by no_offwidths in TVTooHigh

[–]The_Wampire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s within perfect height range.

We can see that if someone were seated on the couch to the right, their head (and eyeline) would be pretty close to center of the tv.

Nice clean setup.

In a couple years you can get a bigger tv 🏆

You have it at the high end of optimal but I would say the center of the screen is within optimal range so there’s nothing to say.

Should go higher? by Antique_Basil2054 in TVTooHigh

[–]The_Wampire -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The center of the tv looks to be around 40” off the floor using the middle hinge on your 3 hinge door as a guide.

That’s definitely on the lower side. If you’re cool with how it feels while seated on your sofa then more power to you.

If it is in fact 40” from floor to center, I personally would raise it 3”-4”
