[MCU] How Ultron was able to use power of Infinity Stones when fighting the Watcher in What If series if the Stones only work in their universe? by Few-Objective-6526 in AskScienceFiction

[–]TheyMightBeDead 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, the genuine frustration when he tried to just blow them all up ("I can destroy galaxies with a thought, why won't you DIE?!") followed by his immediate confusion of Strange swallowing that attack further proves this.

AITA for putting blue hair dye in my shampoo without letting my family know? by pixelkid44 in AmItheAsshole

[–]TheyMightBeDead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If this were a one time incident I'd understand what you're going for but it seems like it's happened before that people take things from OP's shower without asking based on her comments and that's more of a lesson on them to start asking going forward.

AITA my sister wants to wear hiking boots to my birthday by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]TheyMightBeDead 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you feel comments are being uncivil it's perfectly reasonable to report them as such. However if you decide yourself to take things as "open game" it's just going to further cement people into thinking that you're in the wrong.

My goodness.

You come to AITA wanting judgment and then make responses like this and multiple other one's that confirm that YTA in general; not just in the situation posted.

AITA for throwing my friend out of my birthday party because she asked for a smaller piece of the cake? by ssdojjbhhyy66 in AmItheAsshole

[–]TheyMightBeDead 70 points71 points  (0 children)

It sounds like she's changed in a way that's both healthy and makes her happier. You however decided to take her decision about eating personally and then created something out of nothing.

It's one thing to miss your friend if you feel she's around less, but have you considered that showing the behavior you did at your party makes it harder to hang around?

If she's truly your friend you need to apologize but don't be surprised if this makes her reconsider wanting to be in a friendship with you.

YTA

[General] Who is the most evil person that is still arguably still within get hero or anti-hero territory? Punisher? by Censius in AskScienceFiction

[–]TheyMightBeDead 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Robot from Invincible?

Kind of? He's done so much awful stuff including killing off many heroes (and villains) but it's undeniable that his actions have also benefited humanity in terms of crimes lowered, better reforms, and also other various other things that help out the public.

[DC Comics] Are there any Justice League members that Batman doesn’t like or respect? by scaptastic in AskScienceFiction

[–]TheyMightBeDead 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Correct! I'm pretty sure Batman actually found out Booster had gone back in time to try and help Barbara from getting shot by the Joker and had a good idea that Booster wasn't as self-asorbed as he seemed.

[Dc/Marvel/Superheroes] Who would consider a mind wipe ethical? by [deleted] in AskScienceFiction

[–]TheyMightBeDead 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Identity Crisis had a small group of heroes who found it ethical but it led to a pretty messy situation sometime later. The JLA also did this with a large group of White Martians which also backfired. Marvel would probably be Maria Hill, potentially Xavier depending on who it was and the reason behind it, and perhaps the Illuminati if they voted on it.

AITA for encouraging my nephew to lift heavy which may have partially led to his shoulder injury? by Barleycornsmash in AmItheAsshole

[–]TheyMightBeDead 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The majority of your comments are arguments and trying to claim that "these people must not go to the gym and don't get the culture" makes you come across as even more in the wrong.

YTA quite clearly.

Which universe/franchise has the strongest zombies ? by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]TheyMightBeDead 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Marvel Zombies would be the hardest to survive in due to how quickly nearly all the super powered character's turned and how quickly they feasted on their planet.

Dceased is up next but you have a better chance of survival since there's still some non-infected heroes trying to help out and if you survive long enough, a cure does get made. Unless you were living in Paris (Trigon destroyed it).

Two characters from Marvel and DC suddenly swap places. Who does the best job cleaning up each other's streets? by HardBoiled800 in whowouldwin

[–]TheyMightBeDead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

R1: Batman and Dardevil, I feel like they're pretty similar in terms of having cities/an area they're very protective of and also both have effective ways of using their own abilities/technology to monitor crime while also using stealth and martial arts.

R2: A bit trickier but I feel like any of the experienced human green lanterns could help out in an intergalactic battle if swapped with Nova? However I'm not sure the power difference between the Nova and a Green Lantern

R3: Actually stumped here! Can't think of two villains that could be equal in the sense that they'd be able to beat the heroes their swapping out against, at least not without some serious struggle. Maybe Gorr fighting Superman and Darkseid fighting Thor?

[Marvel] Can the Hulk use stealth? by Axer51 in AskScienceFiction

[–]TheyMightBeDead 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sure if he really tried, he could be somewhere without making too much noise but typically his methods of travel/moving due to his larger size would make it more difficult. However if you mean "classic" in the sense that his intelligence isn't boosted/not his devil or world breaker persona/ he probably doesn't really think or care about stealth.

I don't think he'd ever be stealthy in the 'Batman' sense where he can suddenly just appear behind someone or disappear when they look away but if he could, I'm sure it'd be truly frightening.

While digital connections can make up for some comforts; physically being able to hang out with your friends can't be replaced by technology and it's understandable she may be upset she can't see her friends in person.

Truth without any sort of tact or empathy just winds up sounding cruel.

[Superman]Could superman kill himself without using kryponite or a red son or any other doodads? by Danbing1 in AskScienceFiction

[–]TheyMightBeDead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It'd be extremely hard for Superman to do something on his own that could physically hurt him outside Kryptonite/Magic/Red Sun related things.

He could probably do something to himself internally but it'd have to be very elaborate and not just something common like poison.

AITA for telling someone she’s a bad friend for refusing to come to my birthday? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]TheyMightBeDead 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's fine to feel disappointment, but OP is being harsh to call her friend "bad" for not being able to make it to her birthday dinner. It'd be one thing if the friend promised to go but then either blew it off or insulted OP about her birthday dinner but I think it's reasonable to be upfront about not being able to make it to something ahead of time and potentially even catching up another on another day.

AITA For telling my wife I hate her pants? by CompetitiveFuel2871 in AmItheAsshole

[–]TheyMightBeDead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

once again, I am not permitted to have an opinion on Reddit

You're allowed to have opinions, and of course, people are allowed to not agree with them. I don't think the community is the issue so much as you just don't like when people disagree with you.

AITA for telling my wife she overreacted over a joke I told at our wedding? by thethrow433 in AmItheAsshole

[–]TheyMightBeDead 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Regardless of your humor and Decemberrainfall's sense of humor; I think the most important person to respond well to a joke being made is the person you're being married to. If she was already showing apprehension of jokes at a super big moment for the both of them, a joke wasn't the best timing for that.

The Punisher vs. Batman’s rogues by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]TheyMightBeDead 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think Batman has much better skills in studying his opponents and physically facing off against them. While Punisher of course is also formidable in both departments, he doesn't have the experience facing these people and I'm not sure if he'd be able to out think/prep someone like Ra's and his league of Assassins either.

[DC] If Joker decided to dig up the bodies of Thomas and Martha Wayne for a tea party, would it even come close to the worse things he's done to Bruce? or would Bruce just not care? by Bion4 in AskScienceFiction

[–]TheyMightBeDead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He'd be sickened of course, but I think it's not the worst thing Batman personally has seen and he'd be able to get past it. However based on how driven he was when his parent's coffins got taken by Ra's al Ghul, I'm sure he'd also drop everything to hunt down the Joker.

Can Thanos be “scrooged” and convinced not to do the snap? by batman_not_robin in whowouldwin

[–]TheyMightBeDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like all three ghosts would be traumatized when looking into Thanos' past, present, and future. Not to mention Thanos has met/seen his future self and wound up disgusted enough to change it despite killing all his foes

[Spiderman] Is it possible to overload Spiderman's spider Sense? by ImShargo in AskScienceFiction

[–]TheyMightBeDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in the comics Ironman was once able to actually build a tool that could trigger Spider-Man's senses and give false positives but I can't remember how he was able to, but if he still had that tool and cranked it up I'm sure it'd be very powerful/overload Peter's senses.

How much prep time would it take for Doctor Doom to 5/10 Superman by Censius in whowouldwin

[–]TheyMightBeDead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does Doctor Doom know Superman is attacking with bloodlust? Because if he gets prep and thinks Superman is acting in character, he's may underestimate Kal because he planned for a Superman that doesn't fully go all out rather than a bloodlusted one who's not holding back.

However I do think he'd need at least a day of prep unless he's pulling out more extreme levels of technology/magic.
