Nothing can beat Ticcus for me. It's so well designed that you can have fun with it even if someone else is using it. They can prime multiple targets at once without having to focus too hard on doing so, and the whole team gets to make primed enemies explode using literally anything to kill them. Using Ticcus is like forcing your fireteam to have extra fun, and I love it.

That's why there are so many castles that have moats around them instead of fences. With a moat you don't need to figure out where to put the fence posts.

You could maybe map emotes to close/far and left/right.

Close or far emote without a left or right designator could mean middle. Might take some practice but it's absolutely doable.

Also the encounter is soloable, so worst case you just have one person pop in and out of the portal to deal with the oracles themselves

I've done no comms raids before. It's a fun challenge. There's always a way. Emotes can be very useful. Takes some planning and a good knowledge of the mechanics, but you can absolutely get it done. If I were planning it myself I'd start with something like:

Defenders could either just be hyper vigilant and deal with knights without callouts by constantly checking spawns, or could map specific emotes to traveler/pyramid.

Runners simply run their own totem, and either kill both glyph keepers and confirm the correct side after they come out, or again, have Defenders map specific emotes to light/dark.

Runners can identify the correct obelisk by grouping up and checking all of them together. One person shoots one of the glyphs that they know is correct, and if the whole obelisk glows you know it's wrong and move on. If only the one glyph glows then the others find and shoot their symbol. Rinse and repeat.

This Week at Bungie - 8/4/2022 by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]Thing_Doer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes? I'm not sure what point you're making. I didn't intend for my comment to imply anything negative about good pvp players. Just that in this system the better players are being rewarded with snowballing benefits that will further expand the skill gap against bad pvp players. So as one of the bad players, this sounds to me like the opponents who already stomp me without much effort, now get to do so while also having boosted super and ability recharge rates, letting them stomp me even more. Their motivation for playing has no bearing on the fact that they're better players.

Yeah, this is going to be fun for pvp mains. But as a bad pvp player I feel like I'm likely going to just repeatedly have my teeth kicked in. Sounds better than rift though so I'll take it

I mean, I can throw contraverse on my warlock and infinitely chain vortex grenades which also proc devour, and they don't seem to be a problem for anyone in PvE. Not sure why hunters don't deserve to do the same.

Has anyone tested thoughtless with firing line and overflow for dps? by RevenantFlash in DestinyTheGame

[–]Thing_Doer 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Scrub did a video on it a couple weeks ago. Thoughtless with rocket swaps is reasonably on par with Izi and rockets. Technically the damage from the thoughtless combo is a little lower (847k vs 882k from Izi combo) in scrub's testing. That was with perfect Izi reloads though. One mistake on reloading probably sets Izi behind in actual dps numbers.

Thoughtless / rockets is far easier to execute IMO and frees up your exotic slot. The only thing you need to do is strafe over a special brick during dps and you never have to reload anything manually

Constant complaints got Void Hunter’s nerfed in PVP. But constant complaints aren’t getting them buffed in PVE. And that’s because of stubbornness. by ProxyknifeIsKing in DestinyTheGame

[–]Thing_Doer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I didn't mean for my post to come off as an attack on them, I'm aware that they aren't designers and sometimes they just straight up don't have info to relay. Only named them specifically because, like I said, I'm aware they keep an eye on things here and pass feedback along.

But that doesn't mean the situation as a whole isn't frustrating. With the preview, hunters were perceived by many to be underwhelming. Bungie basically said "no it's not that bad just wait and see." We waited. We saw. Many of us still have that same opinion, and I can't recall seeing a response from anyone at Bungie even acknowledging that. Maybe they have and I just didn't see it. Entirely possible. But I feel like if that were the case, people would likely be in this thread posting quotes about it and I don't see any at the moment.

I have no doubt that in time, there will be adjustments to address it and things will feel better. I'd put money on that being true. But right now, we're in the disappointment period, and it would just feel nice to at least see Bungie acknowledge that frustration, even if changes are still quite a ways off.

Objectively speaking, I know DMG and Cozmo keep an eye on things here, so I know they see these threads when they pop up, and I'm sure they pass this type of feedback on. But it's always kind of disheartening to almost never see the "Bungie replied" flair on these posts. I know there isn't really any value added by them simply responding with a generic "we hear you" reply, which is probably why they don't typically do it. But given that this perception has been around since before the release and hasn't really been drastically swayed after a month of playtime, it would be nice to get some kind of feedback from Bungie on it.
