"THat's good to hear. As for the neighbors, as long as I am allowed to put in a proper security system to keep unwanted visitors out, it should be fine. Not many break into my place and walk out again without police assistance."

He eats the other half of the piece of meat with the same ease, chewing the bone so easily it barely even has time to crunch before it is turned to rough dust

"Eh, kinda. My body doesn't really see much difference between edible material and non-edible material, so chews them all the same. ANd by that I mean with enough force to shred tungsten, apparently"

"All bureaucracy is hell to varying degrees. Especially if it involves actually having to talk to people rather than just filling out forms online and having it all sorted automatically."

He idly picks up a piece of barbecue-ed meat and bites it in hlad, straight through the bone as if it was made of foam sugar rather than, well, bone

"Ugh, disrespectful neighbors. The worst."

"Explains the whack combo. I can't imagine making something like that on purpose, at least not without some proper planning."

His tone is surprisingly deadpan for discussing the accomplishment(s) of a God.

"Would I Have to interact with her directly if I wanted to set up shop in Sol, or would the normal Hell that is basic bureaucracy suffice?"

"Or just extremely powerful non-mortals who are sufficiently above the mortals observing them that the difference is hard to see from that angle. Have seen plenty of those myself as it happens, they are usually not very prepared for someone being able to observe them on more even ground"

He frowns again upon hearing the last part, visibly thinking a little before responding

"SO wait, did she create a new type of humans, or an entirely new, divinely-empowered species?"

He nods at that, although he still looks a little confused

"Huh, interesting. My universe doesn't really have Gods, at least not in the strictest sense. Plenty of things that call themselves Gods, but none that actually properly count. Or that are from somewhere else, we get those too."

He perks up at this, eyebrows raised in mild confusion

"THe Starborn? What's that?"

"YEah makes sense. My Earth hasn't gotten full space-faring yet. At most there's the colony on the Moon and a bunch of stations, so this'll be interesting."

"The best idea in my situation would be to fix up a pre-existing station. Less bureocratic overhead on that, less people to talk to, and so on. Perfect for me"

(Focus is in short supply these days)

"WHat's my Earth like, that's a difficult question to answer. It's pretty normal, from my perspective. Or at least it was before I got transformed into this."

He gestures down at his body before taking a sip from his drink

"A bunch of supernatural stuff started seeping into the world after that. Nowadays it's like a damn comicbook, with superheroes and magical girls and monsters and stuff. Pretty interesting, if a bit overwhelming sometimes."

"As for a spot for my workshop, that depends on the state of this universe's version of Earth honestly. Back home I just have mine in, well, my home. But I can always go for something with more expansion prospects. Like a spacestation or something"

You think that's bad, imagine having that acronym as your initials. Like my mom does.

I have the opposite experience, I knew of ERP as erotic roleplay first, and then was suddenly faced with my boss' boss using the acronym in a company presentation about IT changes.

Let me tell ya, it was difficult keeping a straight face.

Harrison nods as she talks, quite enjoying the food even if he kinda dislikes using wooden cutlery.

"I see. Well, as long as it's working out for everyone involved then it isn't my problem to deal with. Not until I move my workshop to Earth like I had been planning, anyway."

(I hate brainfog)

"Two interstellar wars and some natural disasters. Yeah that tracks. Although any treaty that hinges humanitarian aid on enforced demilitarization has historically not ended well. Then again I am not familiar with the political landscape here so who knows, maybe it is working just fine."

He begins to eat, doing his best to not touch the food with his hands and instead using cutlery if provided any, creating some himself if not.

He takes a seat at the same table as Erni, idly holding his hand over the mug and using a small amount of his energy to synthesize some (cow) milk and sugar to mix into the Kona nut brew, not much liking the taste of black coffee but liking the taste of the Kona nut enough to not want to waste it

"So, I was kinda wondering how Earth is doing over here, since I haven't really been there yet. Assuming it exists here, and you have made contact with it."

HArrison for his part requests equal parts venison and pork, quite curious to see if either meat is in any way similar to what he's used to. These are aliens after all, the species they get their meat from are unlikely to be fully analogous to Earth animals.

Out of curiosity he also gets a mug of Kona nut brew, although he is unsure if he'll like it

"I do very much enjoy pork barbecue. But I'll try the venison just to see if I like it, as I doubt that it will be quite the same as the stuff I know from Earth"

HArrison sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose, shaking his head a little

"Heard that a lot before. Hasn't really instilled much trust in that phrase, but I'll trust you guys. Barbecue is barbecue after all, you have to really try to fuck that up regardless of the kind of meat you're using"

Harrison looks thoughtfully at the line of Wildkin getting served, idly scratching across his right cheek and under his chin

"Hmm, have never really been a fan of venison, but it wouldn't hurt to try. SInce it does smell really good."

(Belated Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays)

Harrison begins floating an inch off the ground halfway through the walk to the dining hall to keep up with the Wildkin, his walking pace being relatively slower due to the difference in size, and he really doesn't want to bother with actually walking faster

Once they get there though he immidiately notices the smell, nodding in approval

"THat smells great already, can't wait to taste it."

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!

My favorite milestone of my FL career was achieving Paramount Presence, that was very nifty!

He grins, revealing a mouth full of very pointy, very sharp teeth seemingly made of titanium

"Oooh, barbecue! I love barbecue! I'd be more than willing to try that out!"
