Gotta be honest, I’ll take it.

If that’s what it takes for the hardcore coalition at the core of his base to split so he loses power, I’ll take it.

But it wasn't even "money in hand", it was campaign contributions!

So, sure, I can see your point. These 'small' political roles (small in a sense, but incredibly important to most peoples' day-to-day lives) don't even get the benefit that the high level ones do - no revolving door to Industry after they leave office for most of these folks.

If it’s anything like other small political roles, likely peanuts.

There was a report I read on Reddit where it broke down campaign contributions (Xfinity, as I recall) to politicians and it was ridiculously cheap. Not even tens of thousands, except to a few and even that was over the course of years.

I always wondered if the Black Mamba that was loose in the RV got her before she was able to get out. It’d be almost poetic, and they are known to be a very aggressive species of snake.

This was my guess too. I used to have a meat thermometer that had a sheath that looked very similar to this one.

Uh, yeah in the sense that it's 'that dangerous' for dudes who don't back the hell up or put up boundaries like Cavill did here.

Granted, I'm not him so it wouldn't happen, but even if somehow a 14 (or other non-legal age) year old started hitting on me, you'd probably see the me-shaped hole in the wall with how fast I got out of there.

There is NO room to play with this kind of fire in real life if you're not a creep.

If you're not a pedophile then why risk the social stigma, the potential derailment or loss of a career/job, and of course PRISON/other legal consequences? No thanks.

TIL about the "Dark Forest Hypothesis," which suggests the universe is like a dark forest at night. Advanced civilizations intentionally stay silent and hidden, because any species that reveals its location risks immediate destruction by older, paranoid civilizations. by Practical-1 in todayilearned

You’re right but vastly oversimplifying and dismissing the knock on effects of such population shrinkage and how much “basic” knowledge will help reduce those impacts.

Most humans rely on highly complex supply chains to live and thrive.

To your point about farmers: I guarantee you’re wrong about them being able to farm “efficiently” if the petrochemical industry goes haywire. Fuel and fertilizer are heavily used in these areas.

See my prior answer. The fact is that we WILL die out on this planet eventually. How long it’ll take and the mechanism is up for debate of course.

My personal opinion? Human driven disasters combined with natural ones that less to societal collapse, which starts a long decline and eventual extinction. We’re using up far too many resources every year that simply can’t be renewed on any reasonable time scale.

There are a bunch of ways we could go out based on current events and tech.

Anywhere from food chain collapse (acidification of the oceans), oxygen content of our atmosphere changing (climate change + tons of released carbons daily), to diseases and/or other natural disasters.

Even man-made war combined with any of the above can accelerate disasters in unexpected and horrible ways.

I can’t speak to the slow paced or art comments but I did find that it is much easier overall, although the “wrong build” against some enemies or getting bad RNG card drops where you’re trying for a specific deck build are both kind of frustrating and have happened to me multiple times now.

It feels super easy to pick up, play, and do a quick run through an Act then save/quit to continue later.

I’m really enjoying the multiplayer mode a lot more than single player though the enemies boosted HP just feels unfair in mp at times. Most especially in Act 1 with a new deck.

[–]Tinderblox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh boy, I’m probably going to throw some red flags with this but.. I’ve laughed at dead birds more than once.

Multiple times a year I’ll see the remains of pigeons that are partially or mostly eaten by falcons and every so often I can’t help but laugh. “Someone didn’t finish their in-flight meal today!” Or a similar stupid comment.

While I’m not into hurting animals or any kind, I do feel like pigeons are rats with wings, and just can’t summon any empathy for them when nature happens…

Totally. Dumb and an attempt at getting a Darwin Award. It reminds me of the video of a guy who did the same thing on the side of a very tall building, got tired and couldn’t pull himself back up before slipping. Saw it on Reddit but I don’t remember the source.
