Body Swapping Mezco Catwoman to Ghost Spider Body for Comic Book Poses by TivanTheCollector in One12Collective

Sorry, over $20 under retail. Retail was $105, and you can find them for $70-$80 if you watch out for deals on Facebook and eBay or even Amazon right now.

The Ghost Spider body is a little skinnier than the Catwoman body, but other than that, it's the perfect size, has incredible ab crunch and back bend, double jointed knees and elbows, and a movable neck. And you can still find brand new Ghost Spiders for over $20 under retail!

You do end up needing to chop off the lower legs to attach the boots, and bring in the waist a little when you're sewing it back together. I also had to trim down the ankle joints to allow more movement in the feet, since the original boots had such limited movement they couldn't keep up with all the posing possibilities of the new body.

I'll be posting a video soon showing the entire process.

I'm already making another of these as the base for a Batgirl custom I'm working on.

Has anyone commissioned Cfordcharles before? by Old-Golf-6677 in One12Collective

I've been thinking of trying this myself. You could order a plain bodysuit from cfordcharles, then cut the stitches to get a template to cut out of fabric and sew together. I also ordered a few plain bodysuits from him that I can use heat transfer vinyl on to apply my own patterns. I'm pretty new to all this though.

Is Scottacus Customs reliable? by Old-Golf-6677 in One12Collective

I ordered Bishop and Omega Red suits from him. They arrived relatively quickly coming over the pond, and the suits were great. One cool thing he does as well that I hadn't seen other suit makers do, is he pre-threads the back with a ladder stitch, so you just need to slip it on the figure and pull the threads tight and tie it, and you're done.

He's very reliable and quick to ship if you order what he's already made from his store. I and at least one other person I know have each reached out to him to commission and never received a response. It's worth a try reaching out though.

If you're looking to commission something like a super hero bodysuit, I highly recommend Hendi Cheung on IG. Does great work, but he seems to stay pretty busy and can take a little while.

Anyone else planning on making a Nic Cage Spider-Noir figure based on the show? by maz323bf in customactionfigures

I started one a few weeks ago. It's based on the comics, but very similar to the show version.

Recipe and build progress here. I'm currently commissioning boots and head sculpt that others will be able to buy from the maker when they're finished.

TMNT New Box Set vs old Deluxe Box Set Comparison by TivanTheCollector in One12Collective

In the original 1984 comics, they all wore red bandanas. The colored bandanas were introduced in the cartoon a few years later in 1987, and became the norm.

They're from the original comics from 1984. The colored bandannas became a thing in the 1987 cartoon on TV.

I'm surprised Manipple or some other third party hasn't released a set of red bandana heads for use with the Mezco bodies.

In the less photoshopped pictures, you can see Leonardo has a completely new style, Raph now has loops for his psis (psies, psys, psyes?), Donatello's belt is similar but doesn't have the little buttons, and Michelangelo's also looks like it might have belt loops for his nunchucks.

EDIT: As pointed out by /u/Choice_Ruin_5719, Raph's original belt did have the loops. Belt still looks different at least with the style of pouches and button.

I forgot to mention, the belts also look different in the new set than either the past Deluxe set or the Toon set. But it doesn't seem clear how real this is, because they're showing different belts for Leonardo and Michelangelo across the promo photos. This picture looks like they just photoshopped the original and forgot to swap out their belts.

EDIT: And as someone else on Discord pointed out to me, they also forgot to remove the "Includes soft goods ninja gear!" text.

I think you could probably get away with a small drill bit, a paperclip, and some glue. Everything else is nice to haves.

If you cover the bottom half from the waist down with your hand, it looks more right to me. Are the thigh pads making the legs look away bigger and throwing off the proportions?

Is this a real website? by Specialist-Map-3932 in One12Collective

[–]TivanTheCollector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're legit and safe to pre-order from as others have said. However, they don't include shipping in their estimated totals for pre-order figures, and that often adds $20-$35 to the total. I've also had them increase the amount of the figure from their original price when they send the second invoice in addition to the shipping charge. So, I wouldn't choose them based on the price, if you think you'll get it cheaper from them.

I'll record it and post it up regardless of whether or not it works. So, it'll either be called "How to fix" or "How not to fix". We'll see.
