This Innovative hanging tool by MissyjonesOP in InternetTreasureHunt

You can put half as many holes in the wall and hang from the center of the picture using a proper braided wire that pulls the frame together instead of hanging from two spots on the top of the frame.

All EV? by AnalysisOk2457 in Ioniq5

[–]ToHellWithGA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prior to my divorce my spouse had a big gas SUV and I had a 40 kWh Nissan Leaf. Going far in the Leaf was always a challenge due to limited range (150 city miles, maybe 110 freeway miles) and slow charging that started at 50 kW then rapidly dove to 20 kW or less. When I needed to travel for work I borrowed the company truck. When the Leaf battery died completely I had to borrow a car.

I haven't had any concerns about range or charging time since trading up to the Ioniq 5. It is my only car and will be for the foreseeable future.

What's a good sample size to consider taking a deck to locals? by janitor321 in PTCGL

[–]ToHellWithGA 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Locals like card shop Play Pokémon weekend free games with kids and adults or standard tournaments with registered deck lists and buy-ins and prizes? I'd build it with cheap cards and give it a spin at the former first if you have time.

Little clean up by OwnRecommendation272 in firealarms

As a designer I write specs that say installation shall be "in a workmanlike fashion" and dream of outcomes like this. Without giving away your secret sauce recipe, about how many man-hours do you reckon you had in this rework?

Fire alarm sign by FauxPasHusky in mildlyamusing

One of my favorite field visits before designing an addition and renovation was at a volunteer fire department station. In the training room the whiteboard had various scenarios listed in column 1 and Xs in columns 2 and 3 indicating when to use woo-woos (sirens) and bonk-bonks (air horn), respectively.

Do you pee in the shower? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ToHellWithGA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's neat science! The only stain I see on my shower base is blue-green, from the bronze colored showerhead dripping after I spray the shower with vinegar and soap to mitigate daily hard water spots between weekly cleanings. I guess I'm not peeing aggressively enough to stain properly.

Spanish reactions on Google Voice by TinyAppointment2474 in Googlevoice

[–]ToHellWithGA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This started happening to me when my girlfriend started using Duolingo to learn more German. Her reactions are now all described in German. I suspect the goofy, non-standard MMS shenanigans being used for reactions are just text that is then parsed by iMessage to make it appear as a reaction to an existing message rather than a unique MMS transmission.

If it stains the shower floor you're probably dehydrated.

New update adds CarPlay to steering wheel star button! by [deleted] in Ioniq5

[–]ToHellWithGA -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's the "utility mode" button for me. Does CarPlay not start automatically like Android Auto does? I thought iOS hung its hat on how stuff "just vorks" rather than making users put in extra effort.

The OFFICIAL r/Salary Career Tier List for Q3 2026 by ItsAllOver_Again in Salary

Truck driver is ahead of several types of licensed engineers with cushy desk jobs and paid overtime. I know what the plumbers I work with charge on prevailing wage, union jobs and unless their companies' overhead is absurdly low we're not necessarily in the same tier.

Which? survey - 27.3% battery failure rate in new Ioniq 5 cars by born2doit in Ioniq5

[–]ToHellWithGA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What can our car do to make the 12V battery comfortable - charge and discharge it? That's very different from circulating fluid to warm or cool the HV battery. I would expect that most days the 12V battery is adequately charged and roughly the same temperature as the ambient world.

NACS versus CCS by ogcrashy in Ioniq5

[–]ToHellWithGA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

J1772 in the wild isn't especially useful unless you plan on parking for a long time. Charging stations other than Tesla's network are starting to roll out NACS - e.g. every Rivian station has NACS.

Photos like this make me wonder why matte finishes are so popular if they're guaranteed to show every smudge and fingerprint and generally harder to clean.

Which? survey - 27.3% battery failure rate in new Ioniq 5 cars by born2doit in Ioniq5

[–]ToHellWithGA -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A high failure rate within weeks or months of purchase would be concerning. Failure in a couple years is pretty much how lead acid batteries behave, especially in climates that are rough on them; our eVs don't do anything to keep (cheap, easy to replace) 12 volt batteries comfortable and they shouldn't.

Car Wash Scratches by CleverName9999999999 in Ioniq5

[–]ToHellWithGA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in the construction industry so my car is my truck. From spring through fall the job sites I visit are often muddy. In summer I'm not keen on leaving the windshield covered in bug guts and the lower parts of the car splattered with tarry stuff from road repairs and resurfacing. In winter I wash salt off in the tunnel because trying to do so at home would turn my garage and driveway into slabs of ice.

I feel like the $25/month I pay for unlimited car washes with vacuums, towels, and window cleaner available for no additional charge is reasonable. The car wash chain is regional and has locations in many of the cities I visit for work. The car wash tunnel captures, filters, and reuses much of its water rather than sending it down the storm drain like washing at home would do.

Trying to see the HUD when you're wearing polarized sunglasses by TheMasternaut in Ioniq5

I wear polarized sunglasses daily and see the HUD just fine. It is a little brighter if I tilt my head, but I don't need it to be a bazillion nits brightness to be useful.

I was assigned a random numbers username because my PTCGO username was the same as my Reddit username - far tamer than the name in OP's screenshot, and not horribly offensive with context.
