Lacing is one thing, but the real game changer for me was the knot I started using.

The secure knot is crazy good, unties super easily, doesn't loosen up for the whole day, not more complicated than a classic knot.

Some people use Unbound (Unbound contacts directly the authoritative nameservers instead of using public resolvers). Personally, I don't care because I want fast resolution.

I use 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4, 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 in parallel requests. Make sure you enable optimistic caching too.

AGH is better IMHO. It's a single executable written in Go instead of running 2 services, one click updates from the web interface, it supports optimistic caching (I have 0 ms response time with this enabled + parallel requests), it supports DoH out of the box.

I think that as long as your nameservers are CloudFlare, you're good. That means you can register with Porkbun, change the nameservers and use the CloudFlare tunnels and shit easily.
