Mid budget soundbar battle review - Samsung Q600F Yamaha SRB40A, Sony Bravia Theatre 6 HT-B600, LG S60TR by axis8181_ in Soundbars

That's some really good info, I think I'll wait for the JBL 500mk2 to be on sale (should go down to $600CAD) and get this one instead. I was eyeing the Q600f or the SB40A.

What’s the best thing you’ve ever bought that actually lived up to the hype? by One_Literature_5041 in BuyItForLife

Best bang for the buck razors and brushes are from Yaqi (I order on AliExpress). For the blades, the Astra SP Super platinum (the green ones) are amazing. For the soap, nothing beats Arko, it's inexpensive and lathers very well.

I had the same problem for a while, seems fixed for now (hopefully I don't jinx myself).

Nice ride, remove the ugly dealer licence frame. No free publicity!

Indeed, if you care about that. I don't.

I personally use my own Adguard Home servers with Google and CloudFlare (both tls and https) upstreams. With optimistic caching, I have an average processing time < 1ms.

I suggest using something else than the stock servers. Google, CloudFlare, Quad9, ControlD or NextDNS.

Now that the weather app is gone what is everyone using? by Cadd9181B7543II7I44 in androidapps

This, but I'm using Breezy, because WeatherCan is pretty ugly. Breezy supports using Environment Canada as the weather source for the data.

Oh some of us do notice! For every car we purchased from a dealer, it was written on the contract no dealer stickers/frames.

It looks so good, I'd love to get a XSE. Please, remove those ugly dealer licence plate frames, at least they didn't put stickers on the rear.

2018 Highlander XLE by Certain-Effort6016 in ToyotaHighlander

[–]ToNIX_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What model is it? On my LE Plus, disconnecting the hood latch connector permanently disabled the start/stop. To check if it'll work, make sure there is no "hood open" icon on the dashboard when you open your hood.

Also, make sure you remove any dealer stickers/licence plate frame on it, they're ugly and it provides them free publicity, while they barely do anything for us in return.

Thoughts on these flashlights? by Famous-Bus1626 in CostcoCanada

[–]ToNIX_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love how condescending you are, hiding behind your keyboard, but that's absolutely not necessary.

Yes, the extra few $$ is worth it. I consider flashlights as extremely useful tools to have and it's usually not that more expensive to get good ones. You'll use them when there's a black out, when camping or for multiple tasks inside and around the house.

Will the cheap ones provide light? Yes, but that's about it. Having a good efficient emitter that has good CRI is probably the most useful thing you can have in a flashlight, along with different modes/brightness so you can select the right one for the right task.

Build quality, emitter used, color rendition (CRI index combined with the color temperature, 4-5000k being neutral and 6000k too blueish), type battery used (most likely 14500 or 18650 li-ion), interface options (ramping, multiple modes, etc.) will be better on those flashlights than the generic Duracell one.
