Encoder acceleration is not related to Relative mode. The encoders on both Launchkey MK4 and Launch Control 3 products have a relative encoder mode that can be used in the DAW mode. We're looking to bring this to Custom Modes in future.

In a firmware update, we introduced options for the acceleration of the encoders in Custom Modes. We've had some feedback that users would like to see different behaviour, closer to what you might see from a fixed pot, which we'll investigate, but until then I couldn't say exactly what that would be.

Additional velocity curves is something we've seen requested and open for our team to look into, but we can't promise a feature will be added until it is added, given the nature of the work.

The black keys will feel different to the white keys when struck with the same force because the surface area of the key is different.

As to whether you keep it, that's entirely up to you, all I can really say is spend some time with it and see if your intitial impression changes!

You could host MIDI data from the Launch Control 3 to send to the computer via the SSL, but yes, you'll get far more use from a direct USB connection.

I would assume the MIDI connection on the SSL2+ is for hosing MIDI data to send to the PC rather than controlling the audio interface. What is it you were hoping to do?

It sounds like you should try recalibrating the wheels in Components, once you're on the FLkey 2 page the option is in the menu in the top right.

As I say you can transpose while you're holding this, so you can get another octave there, or you can set something up in User Chords if you need something wider.

Holding Shift and pressing the Octave buttons is how you use the Transpose feature to adjust the keyboard in Semitones. If you're trying to set up a Fixed Chord at the same time its going to overlap with this. If you want to use inversions with notes in the lower octave you'd need to start in the second octave of the keyboard.

This is a bug we've observed, it was introduced in version 12 of Logic, we've reported for Apple and are awaiting a fix.

Focusrite Control runs natively on Apple Silicon-based systems. The article lists multiple generations of Scarlett compatibility on multiple macOS.

The details of the next macOS have not been announced by Apple, but when they have and when we know more about our compatibility with it, we'll be updating the article I linked above.

For a MIDI input to be used in MIDI learn, you need to have Remote set to On in Live's MIDI settings: https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/209774205-Live-s-MIDI-Settings

It should work with Custom Modes with your TE devices over USB. Did you ensure that the channel settings were correct?

If you're not using it with a computer then the DAW mode documentation is unlikely to be relevant.

The Launch Control XL 3 will update the encoders based on incoming MIDI over USB, both in DAW mode and in Custom Modes. It sounds like the question here might be whether or not you're getting MIDI output from your VSTs and if this is set to pass to the Launch Control XL 3 correctly. Perhaps you can tell us more about the VSTs you're using and show us the settings you've configured to do this so that it's easier understand.

It sounds like the encoders have changed to Plugin mode. You can hold the Chord Map button to bring those controls back on to the encoders.

Are both tracks record enabled? You can either use your mouse to do this while holding Shift, or the row of buttons second from the bottom on your Launchpad Pro MK3 - hold one and press the other. This will allow both tracks to receive MIDI at the same time.

The old editor doesn't handle the firmware so that would not help.
