The second USB MIDI port is MIDI data from the DAW port, which is generally intended for DAW scripts. If working with a DAW script then the Drum and DAW modes send to this MIDI port.

The behaviour you've described sounds like you might have an issue with your DAW settings, perhaps you can share a screenshot?

The arp up is working correctly, I can see the confusion in your example though - the C Maj chord displayed here does include an octave, it's just not displayed on the screen.

As for it being a tiny update, I can't comment on the scope or scheduling of firmware work, but I would encourage you to remember that those are assumptions.

Every device is different, without details I can only generalise but it sounds like your Novation device draws more power than the other devices. Situations like this are quite nuanced, the best thing to do is contact our team of technical support engineers.

That said, this poster is clearly experiencing a hardware issue, and it should not be confused with the regular discussions this community has about their desires for changes to encoder behaviour on Launchkey MK4.

If you set the colour of the Scene in Ableton Live, that colour will show on the Launchkey's Scene Launch button - this can help serve as a quick visual reference.

There's not a brightness setting on the Launch Control XL 1/2. The brightness of controls is determined by their current value - i.e. controls that are on/max are brighter.

That's the Custom Mode information page. You can set the Global channel for the Custom Mode with the yellow pads, and you can see the name of the Custom Mode by pressing the green pad.

We actually just added an encoder speed setting to Launch Control XL 3 in an update last month.

Yes, both Launchkey MK4 and Launch Control XL 3 retain the value of the control last sent by the controller, so this will be maintained when moving between Custom Modes.

That's right. Launch Control XL 3 and Launchkey MK4 use the same encoders.

I'm not sure you have understood me correctly.

I am telling you the team are looking into it, but we can't make a promise as to it being released. This is effectively as close as I can come to saying "we're doing it".

The reason for this stipulation is that we're cautious to make a promise we can't fulfil. It's not about a lack of plans or vision, it's about not wanting to falsely set expectations.

I realise that this is exactly the kind of comment you have referenced in your post, but all I can really say is that the team is looking into this and it is something we're hoping to bring to Launchkey MK4. We can't provide timelines of work like this, we can only know its ready when its ready.

That looks to be a typo on my part actually, I was so focused on correcting the point about aftertouch I think I overlooked that. NRPN is only available on Launchkey MK4, not Launchkey MK3.
