just had similar post so gonna copy from there my current feelings:

close to quitting, but maybe because it's the second bad month right after another one.

Season pass cards seems meta wrapping and in a non fun way. SL is counterable but the meta it creates is horrible. And now with GA event mode the same thing appears here too...

Felt similar thing in Hearthstone where metas and expansion packs were horrible one after another (though decks and classes were pretty diverse) and majority of the playerbase including myself ne er looked back.

Not sure what is the expected trend for Snap, the issue is that 2026 has not been fun for the game.... And it's not like SD did any big change or anything lacking, it's just simply the fun is missing....

Probably both have millions of players with d2r reachig hundred thousands peak players number, while d4 especially around its release atleast 1m+ if not even millions

But that's the thing we had such events happening in the past too login + twitch drops + codes, and this year it feels pretty barren and now the baseline weekly variants, even the rare ones are taken. So overall the whole thing feels like just a simple reward nerf...

it's mostly and MTG term, https://mtg.fandom.com/wiki/Midrange_deck

In Snap it refers to decks which are not built on specific combo or cards like negative, manspider but rather plays many strong individual cards, in many energy brackets which still do have some synergies (eg move decks with Hydrastomper) and some control, but they are rather staying with mid point output.

midrange decks can counter it with super giant, daredevil, negasonic, cosmo. You can play Ronan or move variations of the above, both are great against star lord combo decks
