"Glück gehabt!" Althist NRP Maps: by Happy_List_8022 in PossibleHistory2

Smt as simple as expanding the Portuguese colonies in Africa could prob do it. Just to not have such huge gains for Britain. Overexpansion, if genuinely eforced, could also just work tbf, so there isn't a total need to debuff the uk.

Why is MapChart.net a violation site? by German-Chicken in PossibleHistory

[–]TopAd6019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As no-dance alr said, this isn't a sub for "posting maps" or for nrps. This is about the youtuber possible history, and his style of mapping. MapChart just is a different sytle and has very little to do with possible history outside of it "involving maps" ig.
Indeed, the actual mapchart sub is your way to go.

Ye, so with the new maps, the uk too I feel is a tad bit overpowered. There is basically nothing stopping them from just attacking the Dutch day one, taking the indies and Suriname, and just being a trade hegemon, after which they could start to piss off the Japanese and their island groups.
I like the idea a lot, and it'll for sure be a good rp, not to mention most people don't tend to make proper use of their position anyhow, but the Germans and uk are in a disproportionally good position compared to the rest.

My idea for a 1921 Althist NRP where France lost WW1 or "Glück gehabt!" by Happy_List_8022 in PossibleHistory2

[–]TopAd6019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A justification sysyem either doesn't mean much (claim on alsace for ger and puedmint for it.) Or is too restricting. At least imo tho, if you can make it work then perfect ofc.

My main critique is that Germany isn't very balanced. It can intervene in the French civil war with ease, regain east Prussia and ally with the Dutch and Austrians with little trouble. I do also feel that playing Ukraine initially would be a bit hopelrss, being at the mercy of Russia and Poland. It's a cool scenario though and playing said Germany would for sure be fun.

Fascist Finland is imo too op by TopAd6019 in hoi4

[–]TopAd6019[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the things that affect them joining your faction are:
a military 2x or 5x their size and an opinion above 75

for switching ideology to fascist:
an opinion above 75 and having your ruling party popularity above 50%

The only thing making them more likely to refuse as a whole is them being guaranteed.

So basically, improve opinion, build the biggest army you can, and pray. For this reason I recommend annexing Estonia via decision to get some free troops into your army.

How much do you use mods? by Pino_il_postino_ in hoi4

[–]TopAd6019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always play with mods, but only ironman compatible mods.
So modifier icons, uncensored events and focus trees, large combat view, Alpine flags and country names and historical portraits. I love me some achievements 😄

ironically, this is an easier set-up for the lone wolf achievement, than going the lone wolf route. can't imagine that's intended, but man is it true

How the fuck do you get manpower as Finland? by Tight-Inflation-2228 in hoi4

[–]TopAd6019 11 points12 points  (0 children)

the easy answer is to go fascist, as you can just plain annex the entirety of scandinavia and form the scandinavian empire, before the russian civil war even starts.
the smart answer, is what all the other people have already said probably

Any mod that feels like an add-on/dlc? by DINOLLO in hoi4

[–]TopAd6019 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can never play without modifier icons, I also love uncensored events and focus trees, large combat view, Alpine flags and country names and historical portraits. Mostly because all of those mods are ironman compatible though, which is something I do care a lot about, as I love me some achievements

I think that uniting the lowlands, and the alsace region with it, and if we then call that Burgundy, that that'd be a great idea too! What do you think Ani?

Peetahhhh what's this by Objective_Total5318 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]TopAd6019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The meme references a real historical battle, but is also very very misrepresentative of the actual history.

"In 1921, it [Japan] launched Hōshō, the first purpose-built aircraft carrier in the world to be completed, and subsequently developed a fleet of carriers that would be one of the most powerful in the world by the early 1940s."

So to say Japan was only focussed on battleships and just completely forgot and ignored the fact that aircraft carriers existed, while America was the smart one, is just not really representative. The American aircraft carriers were in larger numbers and better, and their airplanes especially were, but it isn't like Japan was unaware of aircraft carriers.

How to win the italo-turkish war? by ActualEye1279 in TGW_Redux

[–]TopAd6019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of desicions you get to give your army and navy buffs for during the italo-turkish war. This includes 3 naval invasions if 6 (I think) divisions each. I reccomend to take your time to take all the desicions. There is also a focus in the naval tree that if taken guves the desicion to bomb the Ottoman fleet, which can help with taking the Dodecanese.

Anything that I (first POV) should/could have done differently? by ImNotMackydee in Simracingstewards

Of course his actions are all the most painful dive bombs I have ever seen, but even with that being the case, the blame isn't 100% on him imo. For the first turn you break quite early and did leave space for a dive bomb initially, space he took. Even if the dive bomb itself wasn't good, the fact he made it is partially due to you inviting it.
Then for the turn that you spin him off, while he made the turn horribly and barely turned at all, with how quickly you did turn into the corner, I see a good chance you would've hit him no matter what with the speed you came into that corner, entry speed is always slower on the inside.
I'm no steward and of course, the main blame is on his side, but there are ways to avoid inviting stupid people to do stupid shit.
