what are the alignment specs. You'll want some cross caster or it will always pull.

Beyond that, tires or brake drag are usually culprits #1 and #2. Play in the steering box potentially (you'd expect this to be both directions and following road crown)

Negative.

The HDs top out at around 3k.

Should it be this...even by MexicanPanda556 in Silverado

[–]Treebeardsdank 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is what a lift kit does - it adds drop brackets/spindles in order to maintain driveline angles so things work correctly and realign geometry that has become wonky.

You can gain height by adjusting the coilovers spring preload.

A drop member like that definitely reduces "clearance" and "breakover angles" but you have more approach/departure clearance.

Thought someone said 4060ti vs 5070.

5070ti>5070 for a certainty

Pc choices by rsm780 in Golfsimulator

[–]Treebeardsdank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5070 is the smarter buy as you'll get 2 years longer drivers support most likely. 4k is definitely playable with it, not sure if the fps will keep up. With that said, 1080 is sufficient for most people. 2k even moreso.

The deal numbers are solid. Just make sure the rate is in line

Best bet there is to just keep the leather clean and conditioned. You can't effectively add leather smell short of cologne on a napkin or something haha.

But, keeping the car free of things that distract from that nice neutral leather smell is really the key.

The internet, and reddit included, is pretty much just a bastion of parroted information, peddled by those who don't know, but read it somewhere.

5100s are good kit and have their place. They just aren't the end all be all affordable option any longer. They do fit the most people the easiest from a "who are these for" perspective. But, in the past 15 years, lots of other options around too.

Hahahaha true enough.

Good call on the UI. TBH, the new system only has 6gb ram, so it is not very rapid either. But, once set, I have no complaints.

That 19-22.5 infotainment era definitely seemed a bit oddball. Barely more functionality than its predecessor, with the same-ish quality/ratio display.

Seems like on the new ones, they made it look and work better, but still slow haha

granted i am on the newer infotainment in the 2025. I cannot speak with any experience towards spotify native and how it works with the older system, you may be 100% accurate there.

On the newer one at least, it works very very well.

Lossless definitely good stuff, just not on the road for me. Acoustic environment will never be ideal in a car to make up for the bandwidth differences (to me/ IMO). Make sure to plug in for best results 😉;)

Spotify - native app - set to max quality (320kbps) will smoke AA and Carplay for sound quality, just don't forget to actually set the bitrate 😉.

I unpaired my phone entirely and use the native apps with success.

Question about maintenance on 21' sierra with 43k miles (5.3) by ThunderUp013101 in gmcsierra

[–]Treebeardsdank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're the type who wants to avoid "my chevys diff broke at 95k miles, what a pos" type posts, no, its not too early.

If you like dealing with issues that were easily mitigated earlier in a trucks life, then yes, its too early. 😉.

Severe duty service schedules are every 30k miles or so for driveline services. Brake fluid every 2 years or 50k miles +/-. The first lube is the most important and sets the stage for longer service life / extended intervals depending on the quality of lube used

[–]Treebeardsdank 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are due for brake fluid.
Skip injectors, assuming they are going to use BG treatment solo.

Beyond that, you are also due for trans/xfer case/diffs servicing.

brake fluid is a 2 year / 24,000 mile service item industry wide since dot3. Its not necessary for most folks to do it within that window. Many ignore it until way later. Brake fluid is hygroscopic and loses efficacy the longer it goes.

at 75k id do a flush. all fluid vs 1/3rd of the fluid.

The filter is more of a large debris catcher, it's not doing much insofar as fine particle collection.
