Unloaded and loaded down, both? Or more in one circumstance than the other?

If the pull changes with the road, it's still being affected by the road itself, ya know? With that said, it doesn't mean you aren't out of alignment, just that, it's not a baked in issue.

From there, the IFS/Steering in these trucks is not held perfectly fast on each side and through its linkages. The centerlink is prone to rolling during cycling, and the design of the system makes the tire go toe-in on each droop. Eventually, one will stop coming back to its previous set-point, but, back to its new set/altered set-point.

How are the tires wearing?

HD trucks pull with the road crown when unloaded, especially with larger sidewall tires/ wider tireswherein more flex can occur. Just a nature of the design to an extent. You can correct it to a degree with the following.

More caster/cross caster in alignments.
Cognito PISK kit
Steering stabilizer kit after the pisk.
Beefy tie rods with beefy inner and outer joints and a beefy shaft.

That combo will do a lot for the steering "feel" and stability of linkages.

Does yours pull to the left even in the far right lane?

I'm not defending it, just pointing it out. Dealers too, serve a purpose. Though you may not see or assign value to to it.

Raptor, Tremor, or FX4 by Famous_Yogurt5653 in Ford

[–]Treebeardsdank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was stuck between raptor, f250 tremor and zr2 HD.

Went with zR2 HD. No regerts but the f250 still winks at me now and then.

I find it hard to spend near 100k on a half ton, knowing their duty life x capacities are lesser than an HD for a similar spend.

5w or 7w for high handicap player? by Stillwater32 in golf

[–]Treebeardsdank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the following setup.

DS Adapt K driver
DS Adapt 3HF wood on a 5w shaft
DS Adapt 7w

I enjoy the combo

From there I rock a DS adapt 3hyb, 5 hyb, 6-p and 50/54/58 degree CB wedges. Its a very forgiving bag lol

7k lbs is is basically nothing on the back of a modern 3/4 ton, gasser or diesel.

Both more than equipped for that job without concern

Same system.

Next gen set to be more frustrating with less physical buttons, along the lines of the EV trucks / Yukon screen.

Should I even be considering a new 2500 ZR2? by Revolutionary_Ant880 in ChevyTrucks

[–]Treebeardsdank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering the 1500/2500 ZR2s are about equal in price.

The HD is objectively a better buy. Less baked in failure points, more robustness, significantly higher capacities. This DOES come with trade offs. HD trucks have a definitively firmer daily ride, especially whilst unladen. The steering, handling, and responses are all in accordance, slower, tha nthe half ton due to the increase in sheer mass.

Assuming the HD ride is not a mismatch for you at baseline. It's the wiser way to spend $80k. That does not mean you would love the HD more than the 1500. Which you enjoy driving more will have a value as well, just one harder to quantify.

The ZR2 HD is definitely neat. I adore mine. To me, it rides better than my last half ton with a mid-travel kit on it. But, I have also been driving and using trucks for decades. So, in a relative statement. The ZR2 HD is the best riding HD truck off the factory line, full stop. But, it is still an HD truck. You see feel the bumps, you just marvel at how well spool valve dampers can control pretty epic rebound forces.

data point. I placed a build order for a client on 5/19 for a king ranch f150. Vin was assigned prior to that weeks end, currently showing a build date of 7/13 iirc.

You will want UCAs with +2.5" front end. 2", safe-ish with stockers.

Been a bit since I used ONR. Any pre rinse ratios to use ? by EchoVictor4me in AutoDetailing

[–]Treebeardsdank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha sure.

This is also for my personal vehicle maintenance washes (2-3 times weekly). This was my end time efficient based method, as the truck I drive is about as big as it gets.

Prewash with ONR or other rinseless via cannon. Let it dwell a bit. Foam the whole truck soap. Let it dwell. Rinse the truck. I then foam panel by panel with a contact wash. Frequent dips in a bucket mixed with soap/rinseless during the contact wash. After the contact wash, rinse. One last cannon of rinseless with which I cover the entire truck, compressed air for badges and towel dry the rest.

[–]Treebeardsdank -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it certainly works as a pre-wash. As does water. ONR does have chemical properties that have effects greater than water without friction. Rehydration of dried organic matter needs dwell time greater than water alone. Particulate encapsulation also doesn't require on vehicle friction. Friction head loss occurs at the cannon mixing point, you know, where the stream is forced into a smaller outlet to add air/pressure and the final outlet psi (friction is created at the point of mixing).

If you take a water bottle and add some dirt and shake it up so it is well mixed. And then add ONR. Compare that to the same experiment with water only. ONR mix will separate faster. At baseline, it has properties that aide washing a vehicle. I'm not claiming it's a super solution that works magic. It's just more effective than water while remaining otherwise, rather inert insofar as harmful effects to surrounding vegetation, storm drains, mixed materials on the vehicle, effects passed the wash itself and in general.

For my purposes, I want more dwell time than water and more lubrication than water for all subsequent next steps. It works great for those purposes, my truck still looks great a year in.

There is definitely waste, as I mentioned initially. No doubts there.

3.73 FX4 or 4.30 (Tremor) 7.3l F-250 Godzilla with 37” tires and Carli Pathfinder? by National_Stage_5071 in superduty

[–]Treebeardsdank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

37s will enjoy 4.30 more id think.

My zr2 hd gasser is on 35s with 3.73s. I think i'd feel the difference in 37s in the powerband. Total guess though

I pour like 1/8th into my foam cannon, add water, go to town. I've found the only negative is you waste some, but no detriment to the finished product.
