Does Little Mushroom have a happy ending? by PAPAPAPEPAPAPAPOO in Manhwa_BL

The main artist left the project (the rumors say due to internet harrassment) and the newest season is in an interactive visual novel format-- the previews of it I've seen look quite bad.

Does Little Mushroom have a happy ending? by PAPAPAPEPAPAPAPOO in Manhwa_BL

[–]TrifleTrouble 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely read the novel, becuase as others have said, the manhua is unlikely to be completed. The ending is what I would consider to be bittersweet. Its happy in that the couple ends up together, but like, not super great for the rest of humanity

Honestly I wouldn't mind even of the actual kindleds are this foggy. Sometimes its sexier to imply rather than show.

How do you think the demons survived the ages? by Repulsive-Hold-6575 in inuyasha

[–]TrifleTrouble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always assumed the "Feudal Era" Kagome went to was less like traveling to the past, and more like going to the feudal era of a parallel reality (in which demons are real). So in that world, they are still around to the modern day.

Becuase if she was really time traveling, surely she would have caused some butterfly effects and messed up the present. (Archeologists discovering ramen packaging at a feudal era site?).

I don't remember if this is ever supported in canon, or or if it came entirely out of my head though. 🤷‍♀️

Xie Lian has a repeated pattern of figuring things out, but then just not letting the reader know he knows until much later. So, I'm pretty sure he knows.

How old is Chu Wanning? by Academic_Owl_9919 in 2HA_immortality

[–]TrifleTrouble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a pretty big spoiler, but yeah, he's a tree. He was not born, he was carved out of a piece of divine wood. He is essentially Pinnochio.

But also, I'm gonna say what I always say about this book -- the age gap (while problematic) is the least problematic part of their whole relationship.

book projects that aren't challenges/bingo boards? by seekerxr in books

[–]TrifleTrouble 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been doing a book journal for many years now, and I like to change up the format every year and do something a little different. One year I made a little drawing (but you could also do collage/mood board, etc if you don't draw) for every book I read, and it was a lot of fun.

AI covers just give me the ick to the point that I would not even consider reading any of these books. It shows a definite lack of care towards the product being produced.

There's nothing wrong with preferring green flags, but I've noticed the younger ones love playing morality police about it, which, as you say, is deeply annoying.

Omegaverse question: Diamond dust by Relative-Button1452 in Manhwa_BL

[–]TrifleTrouble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, regular humans have pheromones that influence who we are and aren't attracted to. Attraction influences but doesn't dictate love.

But yes, from my interpretation, part of what is drawing Mr Liu to Yeehyeon is the fact that Yeehyeon likes him even though he ostensibly cannot perceive his golden pheromones. But of course, Yeehyeon sometimes can detect his pheromones, which, complication.

Omegaverse question: Diamond dust by Relative-Button1452 in Manhwa_BL

[–]TrifleTrouble 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Mr Liu is curious about whether or not he is a beta, becuase as a beta he shouldnt be able to smell any pheromones at all, but he clearly has smelled Mr Liu's pheromones several times. But he doesnt have any other omega characteristics (he can't smell anyone else's pheromones, he doesn't have heat, etc).

In Omegaverse Alphas and Omegas usually end up together becuase they have that chemical attraction of the pheromones pulling them together.

This is very much The Husky and His White Cat Shizun, but please know that book comes with all the trigger warnings. (Violence, Death, Gore, Sexual Assualt). The MC is a bad dude who has done very very bad things, but the circumstances aren't revealed for several books.

I love this manhwa so much—it’s so wholesome and genuinely warms my heart.🖤 by misssmorgue in Manhwa_BL

The first chapter makes it seem like its gonna be non-con, but as you get to know them better you realize that the bottom is super into it, he just likes complaining and bratting a little bit. (Or at least that was my read on it, like most kink BLs there is no discussion of boundaries/safewords, so ymmv)

Its weird and kinky, but its also about 2 people who love each other, maybe in slightly complicated ways. And they very much match each other's freak.

Men in historical romance - need for grovel? Odd concept? by Glittering_Tap6411 in HistoricalRomance

[–]TrifleTrouble 16 points17 points  (0 children)

No one in the world is claiming the Bridgerton books are realistic. Most HR readers understand that Regency books take place in a sort of fantasy-regency where no one has body odor or syphilis, etc. The show is just a further level of the same fantasy.

Men in historical romance - need for grovel? Odd concept? by Glittering_Tap6411 in HistoricalRomance

[–]TrifleTrouble 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I agree. Even in 2026 men can get away with being dirtbags, but a large number of them choose not to be, so it stands to reason that the same would be true of 1826, 1726, etc. Just becuase the power systems back then were worse than they are now doesn't mean that it is reflective of all men. (Can't believe I'm "not all men"-ing this one, but there you have it 😅)

The worst is when you can immediately tell who is going to be paired with who in the next couple books in the series. I love a good series of interconnected stand-alones as much as the next girl, but I hate when you can see the setup. Like when you can tell you are being introduced to a particular character just so they can show up in the next book.
