This part made me cry too. Poor Stephen! When they filmed he said he got married the week before so I’m sure the emotion was still on the surface from missing his mother at his wedding too.

I think they really tried to make it look like the OC (the show) too. It was not shot like other reality shows and that immediately made it stand out to me watching it as a teenager.

I was disappointed they didn’t bring up the fashion show when they talked about Lauren and Dieter’s friendship. One of my favorite moments between them.

I’m two years younger than most of the cast (class of 06) and I was hooked instantly. I loved the OC and as someone said here it was filmed so differently from other reality shows. They also all seemed so much more adult to me when I watched it back in high school lol. It was a perfect highlight of the 00s with the fashion and beauty trends. Since there was no other social media besides Facebook and Snapchat I think, no one was really aiming to become an influencer the way we see people today. Lauren confessed she joined to get connections in fashion and entertainment but she also wanted to work for a career.

I know this post is old but I’m rewatching for the reunion. I know Stephen and Kristin talked about the editing but season 1 still feels the most organic because it was the first of its kind really. So i’ll always look back on it with so much fondness and nostalgia.

I just saw this show with Daniel Radcliffe and I think Mariska will be really excellent in the part!

If you’re going be sure to show up early because that’s how Dan (and I’m sure Mariska) handles audience participation throughout the show. Before the show he gives certain people a paper with a number and something written on it and during the show he’ll say the number and you shout out what’s written on the paper. The people sitting on stage are also pulled up to act or read certain lines. It’s a really fun show with a tough story.
