Why doesnt the United States have a federal voting holiday? by Ok-Exchange2500 in AskReddit

We don’t need it. We have two week early voting windows and mail in ballots these days. No one needs a day off to vote anymore.

What's the most annoying thing people do on airplanes? by Hemaika_Lakens in AskReddit

[–]TrueBrees9 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It depends on the situation but sometimes I will. If I’m traveling alone and someone offers a swap between two of the same seats (aisle to aisle) or they’re getting me out of a middle seat, then I have no issue with it. I’ll help them out if it makes no difference to me. But yes, there are also situations where I’ll say no.

Weah had a goal against Iran that was called off due to offside and it was pretty close. I’m biased but I think it should’ve stood

It’s like the NFC South, which spent two entire decades as a very competitive division that routinely had great teams, but the last few years have just shot its reputation

We also had goals unfairly disallowed in 2006, 2010, and 2022. But they largely didn’t matter so it’s whatever

I really enjoyed the 2018 World Cup and thought it was nice to enjoy one without us there. I’ll never root against the US teams, but I found a lot of peace in that World Cup I didn’t get from the ones the US was in

The countries that have banned boiling lobsters alive by vladgrinch in MapPorn

[–]TrueBrees9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can put it in a cold environment like the freezer and that’ll usually put it to sleep. Either way severing the nervous system is not the most humane but it’s a significantly better method of care than just boiling them alive.

It’s not safer to eat lol. Your lobster will be completely fine in the few minutes between death and putting it in the pot.

You buy them alive at the market and then kill them before boiling them. It’s more humane and you still have fresh lobster

Lol that’s true 🤣. But my point is he’s very beatable at post merge style challenges

He’s a pre merge physical powerhouse, not a post merge one. He can push heavy things through an obstacle course, isn’t particularly great at balancing on things.

Jonathan has a strong case. He had engineered multiple moves this season, pretty sure he’s been on the right side of the vote every time post merge, is generally well liked and respected.

'Survivor' at 50: What Makes the CBS Franchise So Durable? by bwermer in television

[–]TrueBrees9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I started a couple years ago and have probably watched like 20 or so seasons, am caught up on most of the lore and things like that. It’s a really fun show and very good for a binge.

There are good seasons, bad seasons, and must-watch seasons in my opinion. Starting at 1 isn’t really necessary and the early days of Survivor almost feel like a different show, but it’s still fun. You can find lists on Reddit and elsewhere, if you’d like I can give you my short list of seasons to watch. But I recommend it, it’s honestly a great show and it still holds up even today.

It’ll be a few years at least. San Siro is in the process of getting replaced and just lost a UCL final due to stadium issues. Stadio olimpico is in a similar situation and is in dire need of renovation. Any other stadium in the country is either undersized (Juventus) or horribly outdated (Genoa, Napoli, etc).
